Due giovani innamorati lasciano Hong Kong per Buenos Aires, in cerca di un futuro radioso e di un posto speciale come le cascate dell’Iguazú dipinte sulla lampada che illumina soffusamente la loro camera. Yiu-fai, metodico e affidabile, e Po-wing, vanitoso e incostante, sono due opposti che si attraggono. Il primo lavora come buttadentro in un tango bar, mentre l’altro conduce una vita promiscua, avendo l’ardire di condurre i suoi amanti al locale dove lavora Yiu-fai. Desiderio, passione, gelosia, rabbia e tradimento si intrecciano nel languido e voluttuoso tango della loro vita, cadenzata dai continui “ricominciamo da zero” pronunciati da Po-wing. La versione restaurata presenta alcune scene censurate dalla distribuzione italiana, rendendo la visione di uno dei primi film dell’Estremo Oriente a dare “visibilità” a dei soggetti queer ancora più palpitante.

Two young lovers leave Hong Kong for Buenos Aires, in search of a bright future and a special place like the Iguazu Falls painted on the lamp that softly lights their room. Yiu-fai, methodical and reliable, and Po-wing, vain and fickle, are two opposites drawn together. The first works as a doorman in a tango bar, while the other leads a promiscuous life, having the audacity to lead his lovers to the place where Yiu-fai works. Desire, passion, jealousy, anger and betrayal are intertwined in the languishing and sensual tango of their life, punctuated by the continuous “let's start over” said by Po-wing. The restored version features some scenes censored by the Italian distribution, making the vision of one of the first East Asian films to give “visibility” to queer subjects even more vibrant.
