Una giovane regista si reca nella provincia di Krabi, in Tailandia, per effettuare alcuni sopralluoghi in vista del suo prossimo progetto. Gli abitanti osservano con preoccupato stupore, memori della catastrofe ambientale prodotta dall’incremento dei flussi turistici dopo la produzione del film di Danny Boyle con Di Caprio, The Beach. Mentre è impegnata a intersecare vicende famigliari (la storia dei genitori che si recavano spesso in un cinema ormai dismesso) e storia nazionale (le proteste studentesche degli anni settanta e il clima militarizzato odierno) si perdono però le sue tracce. 
Krabi, 2562 è una ricerca per immagini, sondate nella loro complessità stratigrafica, che ritorna alle origini mitologico-primitive dell’uomo delle caverne e alle forme di vita anfibie, sospese tra due elementi – acqua e terra – e due ere geologiche – Paleocene e Olocene.

A young directress travels to Krabi province, Thailand, for on-site inspections in view of her next project. The inhabitants observe with worried amazement, mindful of the environmental disaster determined by the increasing flow of tourists after the production of Danny Boyle’s The Beach. While busy intersecting family affairs (the story of her parents who often went to a by now abandoned cinema) and national history (the student protests of the ‘70s and today’s militarized climate), the directress’ traces are lost.
Krabi, 2562 is a search by images, probed in their stratigraphic complexity, which returns to the mythological-primitive origins of the cavemen and to the amphibious life forms, suspended between two elements – water and earth – and two geological eras – Paleocene and Holocene.
