È la prima volta che Adrien entra in una sauna gay. Nello spazio di una notte scopre questo microcosmo dove l'aspetto comico delle singole tragedie incontra il passare del tempo e dove la speranza si mescola alla malinconia. 

Maxime Rappaz coglie con grande sottigliezza i sentimenti di vulnerabilità, di autocontrollo e di abbandono che attraversano il protagonista mentre muove i primi passi in un mondo di cui deve ancora imparare il linguaggio. Poche parole vengono pronunciate. I gesti, il contatto visivo e i sussurri sono i mezzi attraverso cui il desiderio si comunica, sia che si tratti di lussuria o di amore: è l'ambiguità stessa dei sentimenti che conta. Ci viene così ricordato che il cinema non è mai stato così vicino alla sua essenza come linguaggio della realtà come quando esprime lo stato indeciso dei nostri affetti più profondi.

It is the first time Adrien is entering a homosexual sauna. In the space of one night, he discovers this microcosm where the comic aspect of the individual tragedies encounters the passing of time and where hope mingles with melancholy. 

Maxime Rappaz seizes with great subtlety the feelings of vulnerability, self-control and self-surrender that pass through the protagonist as he is making his first steps into a world whose language he has yet to learn. Only a few words are spoken. Bodily gestures, eye contacts and whispers are the mediums through which desire communicates itself, be it lust or love: this is the very ambiguity of feelings that matters. We are thus reminded that film has never been that close to its essence as language of reality than when expressing the undecided state of our deepest affections.
