È il compleanno della nonna. Rosa, la padrona di casa, crede di avere tutto sotto controllo, ma vivrà incomprensioni con le sorelle, con il marito che ha un’assurda ossessione per la musica spagnola, e anche con se stessa, per via di un segreto di famiglia. Ironico e con il senso del comico, un corto che gioca con il tema della finzione, del nascondersi e della scarsa comunicazione tra familiari.

It's grandma's birthday. Rosa, the hostess, thinks to have everything under control, but she will have some misunderstandings with her sisters, with her husband who has an absurd obsession for Spanish music, and also with herself, due to a family secret. And ironic and even comical short that plays with the themes of fiction, hiding and poor communication between relatives.

Tremulo

Carlos spazza e pulisce il pavimento di una bottega di barbiere d’altri tempi. Alla vigilia della festa dell’indipendenza, tra i clienti appare Julio. I loro occhi si incontrano e, quando la bottega chiude, Julio ritorna per Carlos. Passano la notte insieme, mangiando, parlando e ballando, ben sapendo che questo incontro sarà molto breve. Una storia fresca e delicata che racconta l'ingenuità e la spensieratezza dell'adolescenza e la preziosità dei fugaci momenti di gioia che la vita, alle volte, ci regala.

Carlos sweeps and mops the floor of an old-time barbershop. The day before Independence Day, Julio comes into the shop. Their eyes meet, and when the barbershop closes Julio comes back for Carlos. They spend the night together, eating, chatting and even dancing, fully aware that this encounter will be short-lived. A clean and delicate story that tells us about the naivety and the carefreeness of adolescence and the value of the fleeting moments that life sometimes offers us.

Ton poids sur ma nuque / Your Weight on the Nape of my Neck

Una mattina, un uomo apre la finestra del proprio appartamento e scorge nel palazzo di fronte una presenza che non aveva mai notato prima. L’avvenimento inaspettato innesca una tormentata serie di riflessioni introspettive. L’uomo è infatti avvezzo al voyerismo, all’attenta osservazione della realtà circostante e dei personaggi che la popolano, ma spinto dal desiderio e dall’attrazione verso il nudo maschile, stavolta potrebbe decidersi ad agire.

One morning, a man opens the window of his apartment and sees in the opposite building a presence which he had never noticed before. This unattended event triggers a tormented series of introspective reflections. The man is indeed accustomed to voyeurism and to have a sharp look over his surroundings and the characters that inhabit them, but driven by the desire and the attraction towards the male nude, this time he could decide to dive into action.

Queer (copiare Beckett)

Un videoclip che nasce dalla fusione tra le suggestioni di un brano di Loozoo, progetto musicale elettronico di stampo techno-ambient intrapreso a Catania dai fratelli Trimarchi nel 1996, e il testo “Teste Morte” di Samuel Beckett, scrittore tra i più influenti del XX secolo e massimo rappresentante del “Teatro dell’assurdo”. Inquietudine elettronica e testi dal significato oscuro s’intrecciano in un linguaggio visivo decisamente sperimentale.

A videoclip that was born from the fusion between the suggestions of a song by Lozoo – an electronic musical project in techno-ambient style that was realized in Catania by the Trimarchi brothers in 1996 – and the text "Têtes mortes" by Samuel Beckett, one of the most influential writers of the 20th century and the most important exponent of the Theatre of the Absurd. Electro anxiety and obscure texts are intertwined in a highly experimental visual language.

Monster Mash è un atto d’amore verso il cinema horror, che rende omaggio e allo stesso tempo si prende gioco degli elementi omofobici del genere attraverso la sovversione, l’appropriazione e la ri-contestualizzazione.

Disguised as female cult horror movie characters, they begin a grotesque nocturnal wandering that takes them home, in bed, talking about characters and horror movies. is a love act towards horror cinema, it pays tribute to and at the same time mocks the homophobic elements of this genre through the subversion, the appropriation and the re-contextualization.

Le Piment / Pepper

Il risveglio: uno dei più delicati momenti dopo una notte di sesso. Ancora più delicato se a doverlo vivere sono tre ragazze, una coppia e una sconosciuta. Tramite un unico piano sequenza il regista analizza gli incontri e gli scontri, la gelosia e il gioco ma, soprattutto, il sottile confine tra sesso e amore. Patrick Aubert ci invita a ripensare il concetto di convenzione all’interno delle relazioni sentimentali affermando la necessità di osare, di mettere un po’ di pepe nelle nostre vite.

La vita di Jonathan segue un leitmotiv scandito dalla danza e dal sesso. Di giorno può allenarsi in pace e concentrarsi, mentre di sera scatta l’ora delle esibizioni nei night club. In questa esistenza di contraddizioni, trasgressioni, incontri, desiderio, ma anche di tanta tecnica e virtuosismo, riesce a darsi molte risposte a non poche domande. Risposte che talvolta sono dolorose, eppure sicuramente vere.

Jonathan's life is marked by the leitmotif of dance and sex. By day he can train peacefully and he can concentrate, whereas by night he performs in nightclubs. In this life full of contradictions, transgressions, encounters, desire, but also of technique and virtuosity, he finds many answers to not few questions. Answers that are sometimes painful, but they sure are real.

Mondial 2010 porta lo spettatore nel Medio Oriente, dove la definizione dei confini è fonte di conflitti drammatici. Una coppia gay libanese si mette in viaggio per Ramallah, decidendo di registrare la videocronaca della propria esperienza in Palestina. La tormentata relazione affettiva dei protagonisti e il suo svolgimento sono la prospettiva quotidiana dalla quale viene mostrata la straordinarietà del conflitto tra oppressori e vittime.

Mondial 2010 takes the audience to the Middle East, where the definition of the borders is source of terrible conflicts. A Lebanese gay couple starts a trip to Ramallah and they decide to film a report of their experience in Palestine. The protagonists' tormented emotional relation and its development are the daily perspective from which the extraordinary conflict between oppressors and victims is shown.

Felix è un giovane studente, un ragazzo apparentemente molto comune che da sei mesi lavora come escort per guadagnare dei soldi per pagarsi gli studi. Più volte la settimana gli capita di incontrare uomini più anziani per fare sesso con loro. Questa volta però accade qualcosa di diverso dal solito: un uomo di 250 chili lo aspetta nella sua stanza d’albergo. Invece di fare sesso l’uomo racconta a Felix la sua storia affascinante.

Felix is a young student, a seemingly ordinary guy that has been working as an escort for six months to earn the money he needs to pay his studies. More than once a week he meets elderly men and has sex with them. However this time something different happens: a 250-kilo man is waiting for him in his hotel room. Instead of having sex with him, he tells Felix his fascinating story.

Il protagonista di questo film animato sa di essere prima di tutto un vero hooligan, e sceglie il silenzio circa la sua omosessualità. Ma sempre più spesso, tornando a casa dopo le guerriglie contro i tifosi avversari, ci sono serate in cui i sentimenti taciuti urlano.

The hooligans world is ruled by the din of the police's megaphones, by the snarls of sniffer dogs, by the helicopters that watch over the sky on fire. The main character of this animated film knows he is first of all a true hooligan, and chooses to silence his homosexuality. But more and more frequently, going back home after the guerrillas against the rival fans, there are nights when his hidden feelings yell out.

En Eftermiddag / An Afternoon

Due compagni di scuola si ritrovano a casa dopo le lezioni per trascorrere del tempo insieme, chiacchierando e guardando video su internet. Entrambi si piacciono ma le loro paure, le loro insicurezze si manifestano ed impediscono quel contatto, quel passo decisivo che permetterebbe loro di rivelare quei sentimenti così dolorosamente soffocati. Quanto coraggio ci vuole per affrontare quel salto nel buio? Il regista ci racconta tutti i dubbi e le incertezze dell'adolescenza in un corto che riesce a mettere perfettamente in scena l'ansia del primo approccio, affidandone il compito alle nuove generazioni.

Two schoolmates meet at home after classes to spend some time together, chatting and watching videos on the internet. They like each other but their fears, their insecurities arise and prevent that contact, that decisive step that would allow them to reveal such repressed feelings. How much courage does it take to face that leap into the unknown? The director tells us about teenagers’ doubts and uncertainties in a short that succeeds in showing first approach anxiety, entrusting the new generations.

The Decision

Karim è un giovane musicista neodiplomato di origine marocchina. Ad Amsterdam vive una relazione con il suo compagno olandese, ma un sms sembra troncare di netto la loro storia: il compagno non vuole più vivere il loro rapporto in segreto, bensì apertamente. Per Karim si schiude una scelta difficile, legata alle spiegazioni che dovrebbe al padre, il quale non si è risposato non soltanto per non essersi mai innamorato di un’altra donna, ma anche per proteggere suo figlio, non reputando nessuna all’altezza di essere la seconda madre di Karim.

Karim is a young recently graduated musician of Moroccan origins. In Amsterdam he lives a love relationship with his Dutch classmate, but it looks like a text message is going to break off their story: his partner doesn’t want to live anymore their relationship in secret, but rather openly. Karim has to face a difficult choice, because of the explanations he should give his father who didn’t remarry not only because he never fell in love with another woman, but also to protect his son, for no other woman seemed worth of becoming Karim’s stepmother.

Paul ha 16 anni e guadagna qualche soldo lavorando per la strada. Gli incontri passeggeri costituiscono la sua routine giornaliera, sino a quando viene a contatto con un gruppo di teenager che gli insegnano che nessuno può fuggire dai propri problemi. Ma Paul ha fatto un patto. Un patto con delle formiche. Un “Ameisenpakt”, che mette in discussione i rigidi schemi della nostra realtà. I confini tra realtà e immaginazione vengono scossi e Paul crea per sé un mondo nel quale potersi sentire a casa.

Paul is 16 years old and earns his pocket money working the streets. Fleeting encounters shape his daily routine, until he comes across a group of teenagers that teaches him that nobody can run away from their problems. But Paul has made a pact. A pact with some ants. An “Ameisenpakt”, that questions the strict patterns of our reality. The boundaries between reality and imagination are shaking and Paul creates a world for himself that feels like home.
