La notte tra il 27 e il 28 giugno 1969 a New York non è una notte come le altre. Allo Stonewall Inn, un bar nel Greenwich Village, scoppiano gli scontri che porteranno alla nascita del movimento di liberazione gay (Gay Liberation Front) negli Stati Uniti. Si inaugura una prassi politica di rivendicazione dei diritti degli omosessuali che prende le distanze dai precedenti movimenti degli anni Cinquanta. Un anno dopo gli scontri, il 28 giugno 1970, migliaia di persone partecipano al Christopher Street Liberation Day, una marcia che conduce dal Greenwich Village a Central Park: è il primo Gay Pride della storia.

The night between June 27th and 28th 1969 is not a night like any other in New York. At the Stonewall Inn, a bar in Greenwich Village, the clashes that will give birth to the Gay Liberation Front in the USA break out. The political procedure of claiming homosexuals rights begins, taking a distance from the previous movements of the 50s. A year after the clashes, on June 28th, thousands of people participate to the Christopher Street Liberation Day, a parade from the Greenwich Village to Central Park: it's the first gay pride in history.
