Interpretando tutti i personaggi del film, Gabriel Abantes e Benjamin Crotty mostrano una famiglia portoghese piuttosto atipica. Mentre il padre si arricchisce in investimenti disonesti in Medio Oriente, i figli intrattengono una relazione incestuosa e sono in procinto di partire per l’Iraq, arruolatisi come volontari. Altra variazione sul tema dell’eredità del male che passa dai genitori ai figli e viene tramandata di generazione in generazione, Abrantes riflette sui tentativi impossibili di redenzione e sulla destinalità e la fatalità della colpa, seppur inconsapevole.

Interpreting all the characters of the film, Gabriel Abantes and Benjamin Crotty show us a rather atypical Portuguese family. As the father gets richer through dishonest investments in the Middle East, his children have an incestuous relationship and are about to leave to Iraq, enlisted as volunteers. Another variation on the theme of the inheritance of evil that passes from parents to children and is handed down from generation to generation, Abrantes reflects on the impossible attempts of redemption and the destiny and fatality of guilt, even if unaware.
