Una riflessione sull’essere una donna e sentirsi stretta tra due codici: quello della famiglia e quello della propria famiglia. Due codici che si alimentano a vicenda. Divieti, ingiunzioni, regole di buona condotta per le donne dettate dagli uomini di legge, dalla famiglia e dalla società. Felfel Lahmer crea uno spazio di confronto e dà corpo e voce alle donne che si riuniscono per studiare, commentare – decifrare – le leggi, le prescrizioni e le consuetudini tacite, ma non per questo meno implacabili, imposte loro in absentia. Un’assenza strumentale che è servita a favorire e legittimare l’oppressione femminile, qui decostruita per generare inaspettati cortocircuiti e disegnare preziose “vie di fuga”.

A reflection on being a woman caught between two codes: that of the family and that of her own family. Two codes that feed off each other. Prohibitions, injunctions, rules of good behavior for women, dictated by lawmen, family and society. Felfel Lahmer creates a space for confrontation and gives body and voice to the women who gather to study, comment on – to decipher – the tacit, but no less implacable laws, prescriptions and customs imposed on them in absentia. An instrumental absence that has served to foster and legitimize female oppression that is here deconstructed to generate unexpected short-circuits and to draw precious "escape routes".
