Durante la fine degli anni duemila, Crystabel Riley è andata in tour in Giappone ed Europa con batteria, strumenti elettronici e trucco, nel trio noise Maria and the Mirrors. Questo è stato l'inizio del suo interesse per i pattern sulla pelle - umana e della batteria. Questo interesse per i pattern dimensionali che esistono su (e fuori) diverse superfici è continuato ad evolversi attraverso l'esplorazione dell'idea di 'cura e non cura' della pelle, di sé, degli altri e del mondo, in tutte le pratiche di Crystabel come Artista (Truccatrice, Batterista). Crystabel collabora da lungo tempo con Sue Lynch e con la London Improvisers Orchestra. Attualmente sta lavorando al progetto duo multi-formato @xcrswx con Seymour Wright. Di recente ha suonato al LCMF (London Contemorary Music Festival).

During the late naughties Crystabel Riley toured Japan and Europe using drums, electronics and make-up in noise trio Maria and the Mirrors. This was the start of her interest in patterns on skins - human and drum. This interest in dimensional patterns existing on (and off) different surfaces has continued to evolve through exploring the idea of 'care and uncare' of the skin, self, others, and the world, across all of Crystabel's practices as an Artist (Make-up, Drum). Crystabel has been a long term collaborator of Sue Lynch as well as the London Improvisers Orchestra. She is currently working on the multi-format duo project @xcrswx with Seymour Wright. She recently played at LCMF (London Contemorary Music Festival)
