In una Puglia contemporanea dalle tinte pastello, Marcel legge il libro che racconta della sua stessa storia: À la recherche du temps perdu. Legge di giovani e misteriose ragazze nella primavera delle loro vite ma soprattutto di Albertine, tra tutte la più misteriosa e inafferrabile, simbolo stesso di quel desiderio e di quell’amore che è tale proprio perché inarrivabile. Ma dietro al personaggio ossessivamente nominato da Proust, ormai è quasi certo che si celi Alfred Agostinelli, l’autista italiano di cui l’autore fu a lungo innamorato. Ha inizio così un gioco di rimandi in cui reale e immaginario, maschile e femminile si confondono, in cui i linguaggi (letterario e cinematografico) s’intersecano e quella che potrebbe apparire come una semplice storia d’amore estiva prende nuove, inaspettate forme, grazie alla trasformativa potenza queer della grande letteratura.

In a pastel-shade contemporary Apulia, Marcel reads the book that tells his own story: À la recherche du temps perdu. He reads about young and mysterious girls but especially about Albertine, the most mysterious and elusive, the very symbol of desire and love, that is such precisely because of its elusiveness. But the one who is hiding behind the character obsessively named by Proust is by now almost certain that it is Alfred Agostinelli, the Italian chauffeur with whom the author was long in love. Thus begins a game of cross-references in which real and imaginary, masculine and feminine mingle, in which languages (literary and cinematic) intersect and what might appear to be a simple summer love story, thanks to the transformative queer power of great literature, takes on new, unexpected forms.
