Grazie a un concorso radiofonico, una ragazza vince una vacanza a Ostende, nella provincia di Buenos Aires. È bassa stagione e l’hotel che la ospita è quasi deserto. Tra un bagno al mare, l’ascolto di una canzone di Toquinho e l’attesa del fidanzato che dovrebbe raggiungerla, la ragazza inizia a prestare attenzione ad alcuni strani atteggiamenti degli ospiti: un anziano accompagnato da due giovani donne; i racconti strampalati di un ragazzo che lavora nel ristorante. L’arrivo del fidanzato interrompe solo momentaneamente le sue fantasie sulle storie misteriose degli ospiti che continuano ad intrigarla fino alla sua partenza. Flirtando sia con Hitchcock che con Rohmer da una prospettiva femminile, nel suo primo lungometraggio Laura Citarella esplora le affascinanti possibilità offerte dalla narrazione.

Thanks to a radio contest, a girl wins a vacation in Ostende, in the Buenos Aires province. It is the low season and the hotel is almost empty. Between swimming in the sea, listening to a song by Toquinho and waiting for her boyfriend who is supposed to join her, the girl starts to pay attention to the strange attitudes of some guests: an old man accompanied by two young women, the crazy stories of a guy who works in the restaurant. The arrival of her boyfriend doesn’t interrupt her fantasies about the hidden stories of the guests which intrigue her until her departure. Flirting with both Hitchcock and Rohmer from a feminine perspective, in her first feature Laura Citarella explores the beguiling possibilities of storytelling.
