OPENING è un lavoro documentario girato alla fine degli anni Novanta. Filmato in 16 mm in bianco/nero tra New York e Milano in modo sperimentale, è incentrato sulla documentazione dei “photo album”, lavoro fotografico che John e Alessandro presentarono in due mostre in quegli anni e soprattutto sul discorso che più in generale animava il loro lavoro artistico alla fine del secolo scorso. Un discorso costruito su una rappresentazione autobiografica di tematiche quali l'identità gay, la vita sessuale, la pornografia, il rapporto di coppia e i rapporti familiari. A distanza di un quarto di secolo il discorso di John e Alessandro è fortemente attuale e costituisce un valore collettivo per coloro che riescono ad elaborarlo.

OPENING is an experimental documentary shot in the late nineties, filmed in 16 mm in black and white, between New York and Milan. It focuses on the "photo albums", a photographic work that John and Alessandro presented in two exhibitions in those years, and, above all, on the discourse that animated their artistic work at the end of the last century. A subject built around an autobiographical representation of issues such as gay identity, sexual life, pornography, couple as well as family relationships. After a quarter of a century, the poetics of John and Alexander is strongly current as it has a collective value for those who manage to elaborate it.
