Francia, 1971. Delphine vive da sempre insieme ai genitori in una fattoria nella campagna francese, dandosi da fare per dare una mano nelle faccende di tutti i giorni. Un giorno però la giovane donna, insoddisfatta da questa isolata vita bucolica, decide di partire verso Parigi alla ricerca di un'emancipazione che finora le era stata naturalmente negata. Impegnatasi politicamente nei movimenti di emancipazione femminile, conosce Carole con cui inizierà ad avere una relazione amorosa. Tuttavia, Delphine sarà costretta e ritornare alla sua vecchia vita a causa dello stato di salute del padre, ma stavolta non sarà più sola. La belle saison è prima di tutto una storia d’amore e di desiderio, un’opera che attraverso il privato delle storie delle due protagoniste racconta un periodo di grande trasformazione nella società francese post ’68. Il film è stato presentato in Piazza Grande a Locarno nel 2015.

France, 1971. Delphine always lived with her parents in a farm placed in the French country, bustling to give an hand in the everyday jobs. However, someday the young girl, unsatisfied by this isolated bucolic life, decides to leave towards Paris, hunting for an emancipation that had been denied to her so far. Committing in the politically movements for women emancipation, she meets Carole with whom she will begin a love relation. However, Delphine will be forced to come back to her old life because of her father's illness, but this time she will no longer be alone. La belle saison is first of all a love and desire story, a film that through the two protagonist's private stories tell a great transformation period in the post '68 French society. The movie was presented in Piazza Grande at Locarno in 2015

Catherine Corsini, nata nel 1956, ha studiato cinema presso l’Universitè Paris III – Nouvelle Sorbonne. Ha esordito con il cortometraggio La mésange (1982) ed è approdata al lungometraggio nel 1987 con Poker. Quindi ha scritto e diretto Les amoreux (1994), La Nouvelle Eve – Una relazione al femminile (1999), La répétition – L’altro amore (2001), in concorso a Cannes, Mariées mais pas trop (2003), Les ambitieux (2006), Partir (2009) e Trois mondes (2012), presentato nella sezione Un certain regard a Cannes. Con La belle saison ha ottenuto il premio Variety Piazza Grande a Locarno 2015.

Catherine Corsini, bortn in 1956, studied cinema at Universitè Paris III – Nouvelle Sorbonne. She debuts with the short movie La mésange (1982) and she attained to film feature in 1987 with Poker. Then, she wrote and directed Les amoreux (1994), La Nouvelle Eve (1999), La répétition (2001), in competition at Cannes, Mariées mais pas trop (2003), Les ambitieux (2006), Partir (2009) and Trois mondes (2012), premiered in the Un certain regard selection at Cannes. With La belle saison she obtained the Variety Prize in Piazza Grande at Locarno 2015.
