Saman è un batcha, che è il nome con cui vengono chiamati in Afghanistan i giovani ragazzi che si prostituiscono. Vive suo malgrado a casa di Farroukhzad, suo maestro, che ha anche il compito di istruirlo nell'arte della danza con cui, vestito da donna, delizia ogni notte gli ospiti del suo protettore. Farroukhzad però sembra essere sempre meno contento degli atteggiamenti scostanti di Saman e l'arrivo di Bijane in casa, scelto per sostituirlo, non faranno che riempire Saman di gelosia.

Saman is a batcha, which what young male prostitutes are called in Afghanistan. Much against his will, he lives at Farroukhzad's, his master, who also has the role of educating him to the art of dancing. And each night, he delights his protector’s guests dancing dressed as a woman. However, Farroukhzad seems to be less and less happy about Saman's unpleasant attitude and the arrival of Bijane, who has been chosen to replace him, will fill Saman with jealousy.

Chabname Zaria, nata in Afghanistan e cresciuta in Francia, dopo essere stata notata come vincitrice de l'Ile-de-France di un concorso per giovani sceneggiatori organizzato dal Festival di Cannes, ha scritto la sua prima sceneggiatura, Etat Second. Successivamente, ha scritto, diretto e autoprodotto Je Passe, un documentario che ha ottenuto il premio del pubblico al One Country One Film Festival ed è stato selezionato per il premio Anasy Documentary ad Abu Dhabi. Au bruit des clochettes è il suo primo cortometraggio di finzione. Attualmente sta lavorando al suo prossimo romanzo mentre sviluppa il suo primo lungometraggio, Les Ambitieuses.

Chabname Zariab, born in Afghanistan and raised in France, wrote her first screenplay, Etat Second after being noticed as the Ile-de-France winner of a young screenwriter competition organised by the Cannes Film festival. Later, she wrote, directed and auto-produced Je Passe, a documentary which obtained the audience award at the One Country One Film Festival and was selected in the Anasy Documentary Awards in Abu Dhabi. Au bruit des clochettes is her first fiction short. She is now working on her next novel and is developing her first feature film, Les Ambitieuses.
