1954: sulle coste giapponesi, una giovane donna americana sta visitando un villaggio con suo marito e un gruppo di amici. Allontanatasi dal gruppo, incontra Namiko, una giovane pescatrice ama. Richiamata dalle incomprensibili parole della giapponese, la donna seguirà la pescatrice in mare e la natura diventerà punto di incontro tra due popoli fino ad allora culturalmente agli antipodi. Un corto animato che mescola efficacemente pittoreschi sfondi basati sugli inchiostri delle stampe artistiche della Ukyo-e con la moderna tecnica di animazione occidentale.

1954: On the coast of Japan, an American woman is visiting a village with her husband and a group of friends. While she walks away from the group, she meets Namiko, a young ama fisherwoman. Pushed by the Japanese woman's incomprehensible words, she follows the fisherwoman into the sea and the nature becomes a meeting point between two nations until then culturally opposed. An animated short movie that succeeds in mixing pictoresque backgrounds based upon the Ukyo-e artistic print inks with the modern western animation technique.
