Andy Coughman è un giovane robot e vive in un villaggio all’interno del Parco Nazionale di Xingu insieme alla sua inventrice Claude Laroque e all’amata Jo, responsabile della sua educazione sentimentale. Dopo essere stati cacciati dal villaggio i tre si trasferiscono a San Paolo, e nella grande città Andy sarà riprogrammato e diventerà un robot da stand up comedy, finché i ricordi riemergeranno e non accetterà più le imposizioni della sua creatrice. Tra inserti lirici e speculativi, viaggi amori e fughe, Abrantes ci mostra un coming of age in versione robotica, tramite il racconto di crescita del candido e romantico Andy Coughman, che nella tenacia e intensità dei suoi sentimenti si dimostra più umano dell’uomo.

Andy Coughman is a young robot living in a village in the Xingu National Park together with his inventor Claude Laroque and his beloved Jo, responsible for his "sentimental education." After being driven out of the village, the three move to Sao Paulo, where Andy will be rescheduled and will become a robotic stand-up comedian, right until the memories emerge and he no longer accepts the obligations of his creator.
