L’antologia I miti allo specchio intende restituire la parola a personaggi femminili del mito spesso occultati o marginalizzati, attraverso una pluralità di voci e di esperienze.
Si tratta di figure trasportate verso la modernità attraverso molteplici riscritture. Un guardare se stesse allo specchio, che vive anche del rimando tra chi scrive e chi viene raccontato. Lo specchio non come riflesso del desiderio maschile, ma come dispositivo capace di ampliare lo sguardo. Intento dell’opera è dunque la valorizzazione dell’elemento fluido e generativo del femminile nel mito.
Donne, di diversa età e provenienza, che raccontano di donne attraverso nuovi linguaggi che rischiarano significati “altri”, riassunti nelle parole chiave “alterità”, “metamorfosi” e “pluralità”.
I miti si formano per accumulo di varianti e in virtù di un rimosso, che spinge per salire in superficie e ridefinire il proprio destino. Ed è soprattutto a questo rimosso che si vuole dar voce.
Sullo sfondo l’isola di Sicilia, che con le sue dicotomie persistenti, le sue ibridazioni e pluralità storico-identitarie ben rappresenta la femminilità del mito nelle sue fulgide contraddizioni.

The anthology I miti allo specchio [Myths in the mirror] intends to give back the word to female mythological characters who are often concealed or marginalised, through a plurality of voices and experiences.
These are figures travelling towards modernity, through multiple rewritings. They look at themselves in the mirror together with the female writers telling their stories. The mirror is not a reflection of male desire, but a device capable of widening the gaze. The aim of this work is to enhance the fluid and generative element of the feminine in myth.
Women of different ages and origins tell about women through new languages that enlighten “other” meanings, summarised in the key words “otherness”, “metamorphosis” and “plurality”.
Myths are formed by the accumulation of variants and by virtue of a repressed that wants to rise to the surface and redefine its own destiny. The book wants to give voice to this repressed.
In the background is the island of Sicily, which with its persistent dichotomies, hybridisations and historical-identity pluralities well represents the femininity of myth in its shining contradictions.
