Argentina, Mozambico e Filippine sono il terreno di osservazione scelto dal regista per raccontare la generazione dei millennials. Ogni segmento segue una manciata di personaggi, che sono spesso visti bighellonare o spostarsi da uno spazio all’altro: il posto di lavoro, la casa o il computer usato per racimolare un po’ di soldi esibendosi di fronte ad una telecamera in siti di cybersex. Lo scenario cambia ma le sensazioni e i vissuti sembrano gli stessi. Come pure sembrano identiche le emozioni legate alla mancanza di una meta, alla noia e all’alternanza di eccitazione e depressione. I personaggi raffigurati sono invariabilmente poveri, irrequieti e alla ricerca di una connessione con altri esseri umani. Le ultime parole vengono pronunciate da una macchina in una fabbrica di tablet a Bohol nelle Filippine, che ripete: «Va bene». Ma noi, come spettatori, sentiamo che non è così.

Argentina, Mozambique and the Philippines are chosen by the filmmaker as observation ground to describe the generation of millennials. Each segment follows a handful of characters, who are often seen loitering or moving between spaces, such as workplace and home or computer, used for performing sex acts in front of a web camera for money in cybersex websites. The scenario changes but feelings and experiences are the same. As well as the sensations related to aimlessness, boredom, excitement and depression. The characters depicted are invariably poor, restless and on the search for connection with other human beings. The last words are spoken by a machine in a tablet factory in Bohol, Philippines, which repeatedly says: «Okay». But we, as the audience, experience a different emotional state.
