“Di tutte le persone, il meno insopportabile è un misantropo”. Queste le parole di Emil Cioran su Guido Ceronetti, fondatore del Teatro dei Sensibili, traduttore, scrittore e poeta. Ma il misantropo non è che una delle sue sfaccettature: di fronte allo sfacelo che ha assunto ai suoi occhi la società contemporanea non può che assumere questo atteggiamento, ma un’onda di gioia e consolazione è quella che emana dal suo teatro, dalla sua poesia. Il mestiere di dare gioia è un mestiere duro: richiede un’assoluta dedizione e una continua autoanalisi, non lascia spazio alla costanza e alla regolarità di una vita pensata e vissuta a metà. Queste le premesse della storia di una ricerca artistica e spirituale unica, che interroga la tradizione antica e moderna riportandola costantemente a una vita nuova, ricca di una eco traboccante che dubita e riempie.

This is What Emil Cioran had to say on Guido Ceronetti, who was the founder of Teatro dei Sensibili, as well as a translator, a writer and a poet. But he’s not just a misanthrope: that’s the attitude he had to have because of the debacle that contemporary society has become to him, but there’s a wave of joy and consolation that spreads from his plays and his poems. The job of giving joy is a hard one: it requires absolute dedication and it leaves no room for the steadiness and regularity of a half-thought or half lived life. This is the premise of the story of a unique artistic and spiritual pursuit, that questions ancient and modern tradition to continuously give it a new life, a life that’s enriched by an overflowing echo that doubts and fulfills.
