La storia di una famiglia matriarcale vista attraverso gli occhi (e la voce) di una bambina. Immagini di repertorio, originariamente create come strumenti didattici e propagandistici nella Polonia comunista, vengono riproposte come luogo di memorie auto-fiction, maneggiate e distorte, portate su lidi cosmici e sperimentali.
Creato a partire dai materiali d'archivio dell'Educational Film Studio di Łódź, è una riflessione stratificata sulla parentela, sulle relazioni interspecie e sull'identità: le donne della famiglia si impegnano in un processo di creazione di sé e del mondo, trasformando i presupposti sessisti e antropocentrici di un intero immaginario in strumenti di resistenza. Così, in questa danza di immagini e suoni trasfigurati, la Baba Jaga, figura ancestrale della tradizione fiabesca slava, la terribile donna ai margini del bosco, si libera dei vincoli patriarcali e prende le forme di una potente dea preistorica, compagna di piante ed animali.

The story of a matriarchal family through the eyes (and the voice) of a child. Archive images, originally created as didactic and propagandist tools in communist Poland, are turned into a locus of auto-fictional memories, through manipulation and distortion, until they reach cosmic and experimental horizons.
Created from archive images from the Educational Film Studio in Łódź, it is a layered reflection on kinship, interspecies relationships and identity: the women in the family engage in a process of self-making and world-making, overturning the often sexist and anthropocentric basis of an entire imaginary into tools of resistance. At the center of this dance made of transfigured images and sounds, the classic Slavic witch figure, Baba Jaga, the mysterious woman at the edge of the woods, finally free from patriarchal constraints, is reimagined as a 'prehistoric goddess from the times of the matriarchy', companion and allied with plants and animals.
