Tre anziane sorelle si riuniscono, come ogni domenica. Hanno poco in comune, si potrebbe anche dire che sono spesso ostili tra loro. In questa speciale domenica dell’Epifania – il giorno dei re magi –, però, l'atmosfera è più elettrica del solito. Oltre al programma canonico che prevedere il recarsi al cimitero, pranzare al ristorante cinese e mangiare infine la tradizionale “galette des rois”, le tre devono andare a vedere lo spettacolo dell'altra sorella. La selvaggia e scandalosa Marie-Louise fa parte di una troupe comica di vecchi teatranti…Un’immersione divertente e veritiera nel microcosmo della terza età; irriverente e originale e con un cast d’eccezione di grandi attori professionisti, che ci riporta lontano, in Oriente, ai capolavori sulla vecchiaia realizzati dal maestro Ozu, riferimento costante di Marie-Claude Treilhou.

Three elderly sisters get together, just like they do every Sunday. They have little in common, one could even say, they’re often hostile with each other. On this special Epiphany Sunday, however, the atmosphere is more electric than usual. In addition to the canonical program of visiting the cemetery, lunch at a Chinese restaurant and finally eating the traditional “galette des rois”, the three of them have to trot off to see their other sister’s show.
