Julia Katherine è un’attrice transessuale che vive in un piccolo appartamento di San Paolo. In questo intimo dialogo con il regista ripercorre con leggerezza gioie, traumi e piccole fatalità della sua vita. Le esperienze che l’hanno formata scorrono e disegnano le sue relazioni con l’amore, il sesso, il cinema e i diversi modi di vedersi che hanno attraversato la sua storia. Lembro mais dos corvos rievoca, congedandoli, i fantasmi che hanno toccato Julia nella sua crescita, dall’infanzia all’età adulta, attraverso una narrazione autoironica e spigliata che coinvolge con la freschezza di chi ha vissuto e non ha paura di raccontarlo; rende il cinema protagonista, come qualcosa per cui vivere e con cui esprimersi.

Julia Katherine is a transsexual actress that lives in a small flat in São Paulo. In this intimate conversation with the director she lightly goes trough her life’s joys, traumas and casualties. The experiences that shaped her flow and sketch the relationships she has with love, sex, cinema and the different ways in which she perceived herself during her life. Lembro mais dos corvos calls forth and dismisses the ghosts that have touched Julia during her growth, from childhood to adulthood, through a spontaneous and self-deprecating narration and fascinates us with the freshness of those who lived and are not afraid to tell; in it Cinema is the protagonist, something to live for, by which we can express ourselves.

Regista, sceneggiatore e attore nato nel 1985 a San Paolo, ha studiato alla Scuola Internazionale di Film e Televisione di Cuba e Letteratura all’ Università di San Paolo. Con i suoi cortometraggi Filme para poeta cego, La llamada e Nova Dubai ha ottenuto riconoscimenti in diversi festival internazionali. Lembro mais dos corvos è il suo primo lungometraggio, seguito nel 2019 da A rosa azul de Novalis, diretto in collaborazione con Rodrigo Carneiro. Ha recitato in Just past noon on a tuesday di Travis Matthews, cortometraggio che ha vinto la competizione Queer Short dell’ottava edizione del Sicilia Queer filmfest.

Born in 1985 in Sao Paolo, he is a director, screenwriter and actor, and was educated at the EICTV school in Cuba and in Literature at the University of São Paulo. He achieved nominations and prizes in many international film festivals with his short films Film for Blind Poet, The Call and New Dubai. I remember the crows is his first feature film, that was followed by The Blue Flower of Novalis, co-directed with Rodrigo Carneiro. He acted in Just past noon on a tuesday, directed by Travis Matthews, a short film that was featured in Sicilia Queer’s 2018 edition, and won the Queer Short competition.
