Una giovane ragazza si prepara a ricevere nel proprio appartamento un cliente. L’uomo, trasposizione di Don Quijote nella Milano degli anni Novanta, seguendo una precisa ritualità si dedica alla pulizia maniacale di quattro stanze. La ragazza, incarnazione di Dulcinea, mangia, legge, si mette lo smalto, fuma, si veste e si sveste, come se Quijote non fosse lì presente e come se fra i due non ci fosse alcun rapporto. Il cliente, seguendo uno schema patologico, trafuga alcuni oggetti della ragazza, riponendoli in sacchetti di plastica, e successivamente nella sua 24 ore. Altre volte gli oggetti di feticcio vengono distrutti, vittime di raptus maniacali, in una meccanica che conduce alla ripetizione di un rito di celibato e di solitudine. Un film donchisciottesco, che prova a retrocedere a uno sguardo basico e anti-narrativo per restituire magicamente il senso di tutto nel ritmo di un linguaggio semplice e sperimentale allo stesso tempo.

A young girl is getting ready to welcome a client at her apartment. The man, transposition of Don Quixote, following a precise ritual, devotes himself to the maniacal cleaning of four rooms. The girl, personification of Dulcinea, eats, reads, paints her nails and smokes. She dress up and she get undress as if Don Quixote is not present there and as if there is no relationship between them. The client, following a pathological scheme, steals some girl’s objects, he puts them in a plastic bag and than inside a small briefcase. Sometimes the objects he fetishizes are destroyed like victims of maniacal bursts. This mechanism leads to the repetition of a celibate and solitary rite. A donquixotesque movie, which tries to move back into a basic and anti-narrative gaze in order to magically give back the sense of everything in the rhythm of a language at the same time simple and experimental.

Nato a Bergamo nel 1976, si occupa di immagini e parole. Autodidatta, dal 2011 si dedica alla scrittura, alla fotografia e alla regia di film presentati in festival nazionali ed internazionali. Il suo primo lungometraggio di finzione Abacuc, uscito in sala nel 2015, è stato presentato al Torino Film Festival e al Festival de Mar del Plata. Nel 2016 è in concorso alla 73esima Mostra internazionale d’arte cinematografica di Venezia nella sezione Orizzonti con il film Colombi. Nel 2018 Dulcinea è selezionato in concorso al 71esimo Locarno film festival nella sezione Signs of life. Pierino è il suo ultimo documentario. Questi ultimi due film sono parte della Trilogia domestica, il cui terzo capitolo sarà intitolato La casa dell’amore.

Born in Bergamo in 1976, he works on images and words. Self-taught, since 2011 he has been dedicating to writing, photography and direction of films presented to Italian and international festivals. His first feature film Abacuc, realised in 2015, was presented at Torino Film Festival and Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata. In 2016 he is in competition at the 73rd Venice Film Festival in the Orizzonti section with the film Colombi. In 2018 Dulcinea is selected in competition during the 71st Locarno Film Festival in the Signs of Life section. Pierino is his last documentary. The last two movies are part of the Domestic Trilogy, of which the third chapter will be named The House of Love.
