“L’arte performativa non viene fatta per produrre merci, ma per esprimere un modo di essere, uno stato d’animo. È un modo di vivere questa vita da una prospettiva diversa, con più sincerità”. Così parla del suo lavoro l’artista Franko B., nato a Milano ma trasferitosi a Londra nel 1979 dopo un’infanzia di violenze e abbandono. Nell’arco della panoramica sul suo percorso creativo, partendo dalle performance durante le quali si mostrava al pubblico mentre dal suo corpo colava sangue e tornando ai ricordi del suo passato, comprendiamo gradualmente quanto di sé riesca a donarci l’artista: il dolore, la forza, la rabbia, le sfide a cui si sottopone rendendosi in tal modo il nostro tramite per poter guardare al mondo con un’ottica nuova, più empatica e umana.

"Performance art is not made to produce goods, but to express a way of being, a state of mind. It's a way of living this life from a different perspective, with more sincerity.” This is how artist Franko B., born in Milan but relocated in London in 1979 after a childhood of abuses and neglect, speaks of his work. Throughout his creative path, starting from the performances during which he appeared with his body dripping blood and recovering the memories of his past, we gradually understand how much the artist is able to give himself to the audience: his own pain, strength, anger, the challenges he was subjected to, thereby becoming the vessel to look at the world with a new perspective, more empathetic and human.
