Andrea ed Élise si sono appena lasciate, e non riuscendo a superare la fine della relazione Andrea si rifugia nella casa estiva di famiglia chiedendo alla sorella Ninon di raggiungerla. È Élise però ad arrivare per prima e a suonare al campanello di Andrea, determinata a ricostruire il loro rapporto.
In questo film Olivier Cheval racconta l'amore e la complicità che – nonostante alcuni non detti – unisce tra di loro queste tre donne. Con notevole delicatezza e grande profondità di sguardo, viene indagato e mostrato un microcosmo femminile che dalle mura di una casa estiva si dispiega tra i sentieri della foresta e si inoltra in una natura accogliente che abbraccia e protegge le protagoniste. La dimensione rohmeriana del gioco è una brezza fresca che attraversa la narrazione e che rende L’heure de Ninon un percorso di guarigione e di nuove consapevolezze, affrontato grazie all'amore altrui e alla profonda connessione con sé stesse.

Andrea has just broken up with Élise and, unable to get over the end of her relationship, she takes refuge in the family summer house asking her sister Ninon to join her. However, it is Élise who arrives first and rings Andrea's doorbell, determined to rebuild their relationship.
In this film Olivier Cheval talks about the love and complicity - despite some things left unsaid - that bond these three women. With remarkable delicacy and great depth of gaze, he investigates and shows a female microcosm which unfolds from the walls of a summer house along the paths of the forest and then forwards into a welcoming nature that embraces and protects the main characters. The rohmerian dimension of the game is a fresh breeze that passes through the narrative and makes L’heure de Ninon a journey of healing and gaining new awareness, thanks to the love of others and the deep connection with oneself.

Nato nel 1988, si è diplomato nel 2015 all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Parigi, dove ha cominciato a immaginare videoinstallazioni su viaggi, passeggiate urbane, videosorveglianza, immagini di guerra e immagini di terrore. Le sue opere sono state esposte in varie mostre europee. Ha girato i suoi primi due film a Le Fresnoy, Il sogno di Lady Hamilton nel 2018 e Rose Minitel nel 2019. Insegna anche arti visive all’Università Paris 8 e scrive regolarmente di cinema, arte e politica in diverse riviste. È autore di quattro libri: Le partage de la douleur e Au royaume des aveugles si occupano di cinema, Lettres sur la peste e il fotoromanzo Noir Minitel, prodotto con Lorraine Druon.

Born in 1988, he graduated in 2015 from Les Beaux-Arts de Paris, where he began to imagine video installations about travels, urban strolls, video surveillance, pictures of war and imagery of terror. His artwork has been shown in European exhibitions. He directed his two first fictions at Le Fresnoy, The Dream of Lady Hamilton in 2018 and Rose Minitel in 2019. He also teaches visual arts at the University Paris 8 and regularly writes about cinema, art and politics in different reviews. He wrote four books: Le Partage de la douleur and Au Royaume des aveugles about cinema, Lettres sur la peste and the photo-story Noir Minitel, produced with Lorraine Druon.
