Da quando Thom, ex drag queen, e Henri, agente di polizia, si sono incontrati trentacinque anni fa, il loro amore non ha mai vacillato. Ma la vita apparentemente perfetta che si erano costruiti a Bruxelles inizia a mostrare segni di crisi quando Henri va in pensione, e le sue giornate sembrano allungarsi all’infinito. Nonostante i litigi, però, Thom non sarà disposto ad arrendersi e farà di tutto per salvare la sua relazione e rivitalizzare il loro amore, anche a costo di chiedere il divorzio al marito.
Il regista David Lambert affronta il tema della crisi di una vecchia coppia ritraendola mentre i due litigano, si lamentano, si fanno dispetti, ma anche mentre condividono momenti di dolcezza e tenerezza come potrebbe avvenire in una commedia con Katherine Hepburn e Spencer Tracy come interpreti. E i due attori protagonisti, Olivier Gourmet e Dave Johns, offrono una performance mozzafiato.

Since Thom, ex drag queen, and Henri, police officer, met 35 years ago, their love for each other has never faltered. But the seemingly perfect life they had built in Brussels started to go awry when Henri retired, and his days seem to stretch endlessly. Despite the arguments, anyway, Thom is not ready to give up, and he will do anything to save his relationship and rekindle their love, even if that means asking his husband for a divorce.
Director David Lambert tackles the theme of the crisis of an old couple by portraying them while they argue, complain, tease each other but also while they share moments of sweetness and tenderness as it could happen in a comedy starring Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy as protagonists. And the two lead actors, Olivier Gourmet and Dave Johns, deliver a breathtaking performance.

Regista e sceneggiatore belga, si è laureato in Lingue e Letterature Romanze presso l'Università di Liegi. Ha poi iniziato la sua carriera nel cinema come sceneggiatore prima di dirigere il suo primo cortometraggio Vivre encore un peu nel 2009. Il suo primo lungometraggio Hors les Murs è stato presentato nel 2012 alla 51a Semaine de la Critique. Nel 2014 ha diretto il suo secondo lungometraggio Je suis à toi con Nahuel Pérez Biscayart e Monia Chokri. Nel 2016 è stato co-sceneggiatore di Keeper di Guillaime Senez, per il quale ha ricevuto una nomination per la migliore sceneggiatura al 7° Premio Magritte nel 2017. Nel 2018 ha diretto Troisièmes noces con Bouli Lanners. Il suo quarto film, Les Tortues, è stato presentato in anteprima nel 2023 ai Rencontres du cinéma francophone en Beaujolais.

Belgian director and screenwriter, he graduated with a degree in Roman languages and literature at the University of Liège. He then started his career in cinema as a screenwriter before directing his first short film Vivre encore un peu in 2009. His first feature film Hors les murs was presented in 2012 at the 51st Semaine de la Critique. In 2014 he directed his second feature film Je suis à toi with Nahuel Pérez Biscayart and Monia Chokri. In 2016 he was cowriter of Keeper by Guillaime Senez, for which they received a nomination for Best Screenplay at 7th Magritte Awards in 2017. In 2018 he directed Troisièmes noces with Bouli Lanners. His fourth film, Les Tortues, was premiered in 2023 at the Rencontres du cinéma francophone en Beaujolais.
