Davide è un trentenne che vive in un paese dell’entroterra siciliano. Non conosce il tempo libero. Si sveglia all’alba per aprire il suo bar e comincia il duro lavoro. Vive la cura del corpo come un culto: shake proteici, palestra, integratori, lezioni di pole dance e i trattamenti di Alessandra, la fidanzata estetista. Davide ha sempre desiderato piacere e piacersi. Da modello a mister Sicilia, oggi il suo sogno si realizza sul palco di un locale notturno dove lavora come spogliarellista e si lascia desiderare dagli altri.
Un documentario che affronta il tema dell'ossessione per la bellezza e il culto del corpo senza trascurare quello altrettanto attuale della costruzione dell'identità a partire dal nostro corpo e dallo sguardo degli altri.

Davide is a thirty-year-old who lives in a town in the Sicilian hinterland. He doesn't know what free time is. He wakes up at dawn to open his bar and begins the hard work. He experiences body care as a cult: protein shakes, gym, supplements, pole dancing lessons and treatments from Alessandra, his beautician girlfriend. Davide has always wanted to please and be admired. From model to Mister Sicily, today his dream comes true on the stage of a nightclub where he works as a stripper and lets himself be desired by others.
A documentary focused on obsession with beauty and the cult of the body without neglecting the equally current issue of the construction of identity starting from our body and the gaze of others.

Margherita Orsini

Nasce a Milano nel 1996, studia a Londra dove realizza il suo primo cortometraggio A Cherry on Top. A Milano lavora in set di cinema, set pubblicitari e come fotografa e filmmaker di spettacoli teatrali. Nel 2021 lavora come assistente alla regia e seconda camera nel documentario The Matchmaker (Fandango). Dal 2022 frequenta il corso di regia documentario al Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia - Sede Sicilia.

She was born in Milan in 1996. She studied in London where she made her first short film A Cherry on Top. In Milan she works on cinema sets, advertising sets and as a photographer and filmmaker of theater shows. In 2021 she worked as assistant director and second camera on the documentary The Matchmaker (Fandango). Since 2022 she has been attending the documentary directing course at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia - Sicily.

Nasce a Castelvetrano nel 1999, studia direzione alla fotografia cinematografica a Palermo. Si forma, tra gli altri, con Letizia Battaglia e lavora come assistente operatrice in cortometraggi e spot pubblicitari. Dal 2022 frequenta il corso di regia documentario al Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia - Sede Sicilia.
