Un ragazzo è seduto vicino al finestrino su un vagone della Ringbahn, la metropolitana anulare di Amburgo. Guarda verso il sole al tramonto con gli occhi chiusi. Oltre la finestra scorre il paesaggio mutevole della città, tra il buio dei tunnel e la luce del panorama urbano al tramonto. I passeggeri vanno e vengono, un altro ragazzo si siede di fronte al primo, nessuno dei due scende dal treno. La linea U3 di Amburgo fa un giro intorno alla città. Passeggeri e protagonisti sono avvolti da rumori e musica. Sguardi, silenzio, uno dei due ragazzi beve una Coca Cola. Il treno supera di nuovo la fermata di partenza. Una fermata dopo, uno di loro scende dal treno. Con una sola ripresa fissa, questo film, che mostra un reale momento di vita scandito dallo scorrere del tempo, è capace di radicarsi nella mente dello spettatore, ponendo infinite domande e suscitando sensazioni diverse.

A boy is sitting at the window of the Ringbahn, the Hamburg circle railway. He looks into the setting sun with closed eyes. Beyond the window, the darkness of the tunnels and the light of an urban cityscape at dawn follow one another. Passengers come and go, another boy sits down in front of the first one, neither of them getting off the train. Hamburg’s U3 line runs once around the city. Passengers and protagonists are amid noise and music. Glances, silence, one of them drinks a Coke. The train passes the boarding stop again. One stop later, one of them does leave the train. This film, which shows a real moment of life marked by the passage of time with a fixed shot, captures the viewer’s mind with endless questions and arousing different sensations.

Nato nel 1979 a Lipsia, vive e lavora ad Amburgo come regista e artista concettuale. Dopo una prima formazione e esperienza come grafico, studia Fotografia e Arte multimediale presso l'HGB di Lipsia e in seguito Mixed Media, Time Based Media e Cinema presso la Hochschulefür Bildende Künste di Amburgo con Michaela Melián, Corinna Schnitt, Jeanne Faust, Robert Bramkamp e Wim Wenders. Le sue opere vengono presentate a festival cinematografici internazionali e mostre d'arte. Il suo film di diploma Final Stage (2017) ha ricevuto, tra gli altri, un premio speciale della giuria alla 67° Berlinale ed è stato nominato per il Förderpreis für Filmkunst alla Preis der Nationalgalerie nel 2019. È un membro fondatore di VETO Film, EndJoy.org ed Eternaltrend Intermediate. Dal 2018 collabora con la scrittrice Anne Döring.

Born in Lipsia in 1979, he lives and works in Hamburg as a filmmaker and conceptual artist. After professional training and employment as a graphic designer, he studies Photography and Media Art at the HGB Leipzig, as well as Mixed Media, Time Based Media and Film at the Hochschulefür Bildende Künste in Hamburg with Michaela Melián, Corinna Schnitt, Jeanne Faust, Robert Bramkamp, Wim Wenders. His works are shown at International film festivals and exhibitions. His graduation film Final Stage (2017) received, among others, a special jury prize at the 67th Berlinale and was nominated for the Förderpreis für Filmkunst at Preis der Nationalgalerie in 2019. He is a founding member of VETO Film, EndJoy.org, and Eternaltrend Intermediate. Since 2018, he has been collaborating with the writer Anne Döring.
