Ambientato all’interno del Museo della Caccia e della Natura di Parigi, Taxidermisez-moi vede un ambiguo e apparentemente giocoso rispecchiamento tra gli animali imbalsamati ritratti e una serie di figure liminali tra l’universo ferino e l’umano. Giocando su un confine labile tra cacciatore e cacciato, tra bestia e predatore, Marie Losier ci seduce con un racconto dall’estetica barocca, fantasmatico e ironico, ma a cui non manca un j’accuse contro l’animale più spietato.
Un piccolo manifesto della poetica dolcemente malinconica di Losier, creatrice e “cacciatrice” di immagini nelle quali insufflare la vita attraverso accostamenti sinestetici e raffinati collage.

Set inside the Museum of Hunting and Nature in Paris, Taxidermisez-moi sees an ambiguous and apparently playful mirroring between the taxidermied animals portrayed and a series of liminal figures between the feral and human universe. Playing on the delicate boundary between hunter and hunted, between beast and predator, Marie Losier seduces us with a story of baroque aesthetics, imaginative and ironic, but which does not lack a j'accuse against the most ruthless animal.
A small manifesto of Losier’s sweetly melancholy poetics, creator and “hunter” of images in which to insufflate life through synesthetic juxtapositions and refined collages.

Nata in Francia, lavora a New York come cineasta e curatrice da vent’anni. Ha studiato letteratura all'Università di Nanterre (Francia) e Belle Arti al Hunter College di New York City. I suoi lavori sono stati proiettati presso i maggiori musei, tra i quali la Tate Modern e il MoMa, e festival internazionali, tra i quali la Berlinale, il Rotterdam Film Festival, il Tribeca Film Festival e molti altri. I suoi lungometraggi e mediometraggi documentari sono: The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye (2011), Aqui, Em Lisboa (film corale, diretto anche da Gabriel Abrantes, Denis Côté, Marie Losier, Dominga Sotomayor Castillo – 2015), Cassandro, the Exotico! (2018), Felix in Wonderland (2019). Il Sicilia Queer Filmfest le ha dedicato una retrospettiva completa nel 2019.

Born in France, she has been working in New York as a filmmaker and curator for twenty years. She studied literature at the University of Nanterre (France) and Fine Arts at Hunter College in New York City. Her work has been screened at major museums, including the Tate Modern and MoMa, and international festivals, including the Berlinale, Rotterdam Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival and many others. Filmography: The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye (2011), Aqui, Em Lisboa (choral film, also directed by Gabriel Abrantes, Denis Côté, Marie Losier, Dominga Sotomayor Castillo - 2015), Cassandro, the Exotico! (2018), Felix in Wonderland (2019). Sicilia Queer Filmfest has dedicated her a full retrospective in 2019.
