Québec, inizio anni Settanta. Dominic è un uomo giovane e affascinante, profondamente innamorato della propria immagine. Quando la nonna che lo aveva cresciuto muore, ritrova la madre che pensava fosse morta di parto e suo fratello gemello che vive in un remoto monastero gestito da un prete depravato. Dopo aver liberato il fratello, la famiglia può così riunirsi, condividendo la quotidianità con la madre e la compagna di lei, impelagandosi in un groviglio fatto di sesso, vendetta e redenzione.
Estetica leather, motociclette, doppelgänger, incesto, mitologia greca e ossessione per l'immaginario religioso confluiscono nel film più recente e tradizionalmente narrativo di Bruce LaBruce.

In 70s Québec, Dominic is a young and handsome man with a fetish for himself. When Dominic loses the grandma who raised him, he finds the mother he thought had died in childbirth and his twin brother who lives in a remote monastery lead by a depraved priest. After freeing his brother, they finally reunite with their mother and her lover and become embroiled in a web of sex, revenge and redemption.
Leather, motorcycles, doppelgangers, incest, Greek mythology and obsession for religious imagery come together in the last film and most traditionally narrative film of Bruce LaBruce.

Nato in Canada nel 1964. Ha iniziato la sua carriera a metà degli anni Ottanta realizzando una serie di cortometraggi sperimentali in super 8 e ha co-fondato, insieme a G. B. Jones, una fanzine punk chiamata J.D.s, che ha lanciato il movimento queercore. Ha frequentato la scuola di cinema a Toronto e ha studiato teoria del cinema alla York University. Il suo film Hustler White, proiettato alla Berlinale Panorama nel 1996, è stato il suo primo successo cinematografico internazionale. Il suo film Gerontophilia (2013) è stato proiettato in molti festival, tra cui il Festival du Nouveau Cinéma Montréal, dove ha vinto il premio per il miglior film. I suoi film sono stati spesso presentati alla Berlinale, come Pierrot Lunaire (2014) che è stato proiettato a Forum Expanded e ha vinto il Teddy Award e The Misandrists (2017) proiettato nella sezione Panorama. Saint Narcisse ha avuto la sua prima internazionale alle Giornate degli Autori del Festival di Venezia e al Festival di Toronto nel 2020.

Born Canada in 1964, he began his career in the mid-eighties making a series of short experimental super 8 films and co-editing, with G. B. Jones, a punk fanzine called J.D.s, which launched the queercore movement. He attended film school in Toronto and studied film theory at York University. His film Hustler White, screened in the Berlinale Panorama in 1996, was his first international cinema success. His film Gerontophilia (2013) screened at many festivals including Festival du Nouveau Cinéma Montréal where it won the award for Best Feature Film. His work has often featured in the Berlinale, such as Pierrot Lunaire (2014) which screened in the 2014 Forum Expanded and won the Teddy Award and The Misandrists (2017) screened in Berlinale Panorama. Saint Narcisse premiered at the Venice Film Festival and at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2020.
