In un lontano futuro, su un pianeta selvaggio un'adolescente solitaria, Roxy, libera un’assassina dalle sabbie in cui è stata sepolta. Non appena è libera, la criminale uccide le amiche di Roxy. Roxy e sua madre Zora sono ritenute responsabili, bandite dalla loro comunità e costrette a cercare l'assassina. Iniziano un lungo viaggio percorrendo i territori soprannaturali del loro paradiso ormai contaminato.
After Blue (Dirty Paradise) è una fantasia futuristica in mondo abitato solo da donne. Un racconto picaresco ambientato su un pianeta in cui la realtà è quella immaginata dalle sue protagoniste. Una celebrazione del cinema, delle attrici, un'avventura che attinge dal western, dalla mitologia e dalla fantascienza.

In a faraway future, on a wild and untamed planet, a lonely teenager, Roxy, releases an assassin from the sands she was buried in. As soon as she’s free, the criminal sparks death all around. Roxy and her mother Zora are held accountable, banished from their community and forced to track the murderer down. They start a long journey pacing the supernatural territories of their filthy paradise.
After Blue (Dirty Paradise) is a futuristic fantasy, in a feminine world. A picaresque tale set on another planet, that of the imagination. An ode to cinema, an ode to actresses, a singular and universal adventure, borrowing from the western, from ancient tales and from science fiction.

Nato nel 1971 a Tolosa, si è laureato in cinema d'animazione al CFT Gobelins a Parigi nel 1993. Ha diretto un solo cortometraggio di animazione, The Blue Horseman. Inventore di universi crepuscolari, onirici, e sensitivi, lavora su materiale cinematografico e narrativo rivisitando i generi. Scrive e dirige diversi cortometraggi e mediometraggi selezionati e premiati in numerosi festival. Le ricerche di Bertrand Mandico sono polimorfiche (testi, foto, disegni, assemblaggi) e alcuni suoi film sono proiettati in musei d'arte contemporanea. Bertrand Mandico sta anche lavorando a un progetto di 21 film in 21 anni con Elina Löwensohn, una riflessione sugli stati corporei dell'attrice, dove sogno e cinema si mescolano. Nel 2018 è uscito il suo primo lungometraggio, Les garçons sauvages, vincitore del concorso di Nuove Visioni del Sicilia Queer 2018. Nello stesso anno dirige il mediometraggio Ultra Pulpe presentato alla Settimana della Critica di Cannes. After Blue (Dirty Paradise) è il suo secondo lungometraggio.

Born in 1971 in Toulouse, he joined CFT Gobelins in Paris where he graduated from animation cinema in 1993. However, he only directed one animated short film: The Blue Horseman. Inventor of dazzling, crepuscular and sensitive universes, he works on cinematographic and narrative material by revisiting genres. He writes and directs numerous short and medium-length films selected and awarded in a large number of festivals. Bertrand Mandico's researches are polymorphic (texts, photos, drawings, assemblages) and some of his films are exhibited in art centers. Bertrand Mandico is also working on a 21-film project in 21 years with Elina Löwensohn, reflection on the bodily states of the actress, where dream lives and cinema mingle. In 2018 released his first feature film The Wild Boys, winner of the New Visions International Competition of the Sicilia Queer 2018. The same year he directed the medium-length film Ultra Pulpe presented at Cannes Critics' Week. After Blue (Dirty Paradise) is his second feature film.
