Dal 1988, Damien Odoul ha scritto e diretto nove lungometraggi, nove cortometraggi e quattro documentari. Il suo primo lungometraggio, Morasseix, è stato selezionato alle Giornate degli Autori. Le souffle (200o) ha vinto il Gran Premio della Giuria alla Mostra del Cinema di Venezia. Errance (2002) è stato presentato al Toronto Film Festival, mentre En attendant le déluge è stato selezionato per La Quinzaine de réalisateurs nel 2004. L’histoire de Richard O. (2006) è stato selezionato a Venezia nella sezione Orizzonti. Allo stesso tempo Damien Odoul ha scritto le sue prime due raccolte di poesie prima di dedicarsi a Les Poèmes du milieu, che esegue sulla radio pubblica francese. Nel 2011 esce Le reste du monde selezionato a Rotterdam, e l’anno successivo La richesse du loup è stato selezionato al FID Marsiglia e al Festival di Locarno. La peur (2015) è stato selezionato a Toronto e ha vinto il Prix Jean Vigo. Nel 2017, ha pubblicato un libro d'arte sul suo lavoro di regista e un manifesto poetico, Résurrection permanente d'un cinéaste amoureux. Il suo nono lungometraggio, Théo et les métamorphoses, sarà presentato in anteprima italiana al Sicilia Queer filmfest 2021.

Since 1988, Damien Odoul has written and directed 9 feature films, 9 short films, and 4 creative documentaries.His first feature, Morasseix, was selected at Venice Days. Deep breath (2001) was awarded the Grand jury prize the Venice Film festival. Wandering (2002) was presented at Toronto Film Festival, while Waiting for the flood was selected for La Quinzaine de réalisateurs in 2004. The Story of Richard O. (2006) was selected at Venice in the Orizzonti section. At the same time Damien Odoul wrote his first two collections of poetry before devoting himself to Les Poèmes du milieu which he performs on the French public radio. In 2011 is released The rest of the world selected at Rotterdam, and the following year Rich is the wolf was selected at the FID Marseille and the Locarno Festival. The Fear (2015) was selected at Toronto and won the Prix Jean Vigo. In 2017, he published an art book about his work as a filmmaker and a poem manifesto, Résurrection permanente d'un cinéaste amoureux. His ninth feature film Theo and the Metamorphosis will have the Italian premiere at Sicilia Queer filmfest.
