Fábio Leal è un regista, scrittore, attore e programmatore brasiliano. Ha lavorato per il festival, Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife, diretto da Kleber Mendonça Filho, dal 2013. Ha scritto, diretto e interpretato i cortometraggi, The Daytime Dorman (2016), presentato in 26 festival cinematografici in tutto il mondo e Renovation (2018), presentato in anteprima al 51° Brasília Film Festival e proiettato in oltre 30 festival internazionali. Attualmente sta scrivendo il suo primo lungometraggio di finzione, Valley of Homosexuals. Il suo primo documentario Deus tem AIDS (2021), co-diretto con Gustavo Vinagre, sarà presentato in anteprima italiana al Sicilia Queer.

Regista, sceneggiatore e attore nato nel 1985 a San Paolo, Gustavo Vinagre ha studiato alla Scuola Internazionale di Film e Televisione di Cuba e Letteratura all’ Università di San Paolo. Con i suoi cortometraggi Filme para poeta cego, La llamada e Nova Dubai ha ottenuto riconoscimenti in diversi festival internazionali. Lembro mais dos corvos è il suo primo lungometraggio, seguito nel 2019 da A rosa azul de Novalis, diretto in collaborazione con Rodrigo Carneiro e nel 2020 da Vil, má. Ha recitato in Just past noon on a tuesday di Travis Matthews, cortometraggio che ha vinto la competizione Queer Short dell’ottava edizione del Sicilia Queer filmfest.

Fábio Leal is a Brazilian director, writer, actor, and programmer. He has programmed for Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife, directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, since 2013. He wrote, directed, and starred in the short films, The Daytime Dorman (2016), shown in 26 film festivals around the world; and Renovation (2018), which premiered at 51st Brasília Film Festival and traveled to over 30 international film festivals. He is currently writing his first fiction feature, Valley of Homosexuals. His first documentary God has AIDS (2021), co-directed with Gustavo Vinagre, will have his Italian Premiere at Sicilia Queer.

Born in 1985 in Sao Paolo, Gustavo Vinagre is a director, screenwriter and actor, and was educated at the EICTV school in Cuba and in Literature at the University of São Paulo. He achieved nominations and prizes in many international film festivals with his short films Film for Blind Poet, The Call and New Dubai. I remember the crows is his first feature film, that was followed by The Blue Flower of Novalis, co-directed with Rodrigo Carneiro, and by Divinely Evil in 2020. He acted in Just past noon on a Tuesday, directed by Travis Matthews, a short film that was featured in Sicilia Queer’s 2018 edition, and won the Queer Short competition.
