Aloma e Mila si incontrano sotto la luce frivola di località turistiche posticce lungo il litorale valenciano. Mila è alla ricerca di un posto in cui provare un senso di appartenenza, il calore effervescente e gravido di promesse delle assolate estati adolescenziali… e invece trova Aloma. La complicità tra le due è immediata, giocosa, e la loro amicizia diventa un antidoto contro la solitudine e la fatua stravaganza dell’ambiente circostante.
Un film che cattura il momento magico in cui l’incontro tra due persone, ciascuna con le proprie fragilità, può ancora avvenire all’insegna della più spiritosa delicatezza, abbracciando con inquieta spensieratezza le incertezze della vita. I due personaggi principali sono ispirati alle giovani protagoniste di due romanzi catalani: Solitud di Víctor Català e Aloma di Mercè Rodoreda.

Aloma and Mila meet under the frivolous lights of fake summer cities on the coast of Valencia. Mila is looking for a place where to feel a sense of belonging, the sparkling and promising warmth of sunny teenage summers… and instead she finds Aloma. Instantly feeling drawn to each other, they will use their new friendship that builds on laughter and complicity, to cope with the loneliness and empty extravagance of the surrounding environment.
Aloma i Mila is a film that captures the magical moment in which the encounter between two people, each with their own frailties, can still take place in the name of the wittiest delicacy, by embracing the uncertainties of life with restless lightheartedness. The two main characters are inspired by the young protagonists of two Catalan novels: Solitud written by Víctor Català and Mercè Rodoreda’s Aloma.

Nata nel 1985, è una regista e coreografa che vive tra Barcellona e Los Angeles. Si è laureata presso l'Institut del Teatre de Barcelona. Ha lavorato come coreografa per lungometraggi, campagne pubblicitarie e video musicali come Ice Cream, White Nights, Trying To Be Cool/Drakkar Noir, Sierra y Canada, What You Know, per il quale è stata nominata come miglior coreografia all'UKMVA. È co-direttrice della compagnia di danza Les Filles Föllen e chitarrista della rock band Les Sueques.
Il suo mediometraggio Aloma i Mila ha ottenuto molte nomination e premi in festival come La Cabina, Cucalorus, Dance Camera West e CineDans. Attualmente sta lavorando alla post-produzione del suo primo lungometraggio Clausura.

Born in 1985, she is a filmmaker and choreographer based in Barcelona and Los Angeles. She graduated as choreographer at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona. She has been involved as choreographer in feature films, advertising campaigns and music videos like Ice Cream, White Nights, Trying To Be Cool/Drakkar Noir, Sierra y Canadá, What You Know, for which she was nominated to best choreography award at UKMVA. She is co-director of the dance company Les Filles Föllen, and the guitar player of Les Sueques, a rock band.
Her short film Aloma i Mila hold many nominations and awards in festivals such as La Cabina, Cucalorus, Dance Camera West and CineDans. Right now she is completing the post-production of her first feature Clausura.
