Intrufolandosi dietro le quinte di uno spettacolo, il documentario costruisce il ritratto intimo di una famiglia drag di Bruxelles che attraversa quattro generazioni. Strati di trucco e fiumi di alcol erodono via la mascolinità, lasciando che si sprigioni la femminilità. Cosa vuol dire essere madri? Cosa vuol dire essere una famiglia? Quali sono le difficoltà del coesistere e dell’amarsi?
È possibile vivere in armonia provando sempre più intensamente a sostenere l’idea che sia fondamentale innanzitutto “generare parentele, ancora prima che figli”, così da costruire legami familiari che esulino una volta per tutte dall’opprimente vincolo del sangue e della carne?

The documentary paints an intimate portrait of a drag family from Brussels spanning four generations during an evening backstage. As layers of makeup and alcohol erode away the masculinity and feminize them their hearts begin to open. What does it mean to be a mother? What does it mean to be a family? Which are the difficulties of living and loving together?
Is it possible to live in harmony by trying more and more intensely to support the idea that, first of all, it is essential to “make kins, even before than making children”, so as to build family ties that can once and forever go beyond the traditional and oppressive bond of flesh and blood?

È un produttore franco-belga. La sua attrazione per il cinema inizia prestissimo, a tredici anni, mentre sta servendo il caffè sul set di una produzione africana. Abbandonando lentamente gli studi, continua a lavorare nella stessa casa di produzione dai 15 ai 17 anni come tecnico delle immagini. Inizia a produrre cortometraggi, unendo l’esperienza maturata nel corso del suo apprendistato al desiderio creativo. S’iscrive all’INSAS all’età di 18 anni, e lì entra in contatto con un gruppo di lavoro con il quale continuerà a produrre i suoi film. All’età di 21 anni, lascia da parte la fiction per occuparsi di documentario, con l’intento di fare e sostenere un cinema che abbia uno scopo politico e sociale forte, specialmente in riferimento alle tematiche queer.

He is a Franco-Belgian producer. His attraction to cinema begins at the age of 13 whilst serving coffee on the sets of an African production company. Slowly abandoning his studies, he works in this same production company from the age of 15 to 17 as an imagery technician. He begins producing short films and mixes his technical apprenticeship with his desire to produce. He joins INSAS at the age of 18, which introduces him to the team with which he will produce his films. At the age of 21, he abandons fiction for documentaries, with the desire of finally accomplishing and creating cinema with a purpose, notably for the LGBTQ community.
