Dove mondo vegetale, acquatico e umano convergono, e vegliano gli spiriti, il confine tra realtà e mito si fa labile, come quello tra i generi. Girato sulle rive del fiume Ogooué in Gabon, Chrishna/Ombwiri ci immerge tramite la testimonianza di un giovane uomo che ha intrapreso un percorso di cambiamento di genere in un universo liquido popolato da creature leggendarie ed ancestrali, da figure androgine in metamorfosi, esseri anfibi straordinari, come le sirene omeriche celebri per la loro bellezza e il loro canto, o la divinità Krishna, entità d’apparenza femminile ma di sesso maschile.
Assecondando il ritmo cantilenante delle acque, Doyon filma la voce e il di Chrishna, ridisegnando i canoni della narrazione dell’alterità, fedele alla lezione mai dimenticata di Hélène Cixous: «scrivi te stessa, scrivi il tuo corpo».

Where the vegetal, aquatic and human world converge, and the spirits watch over, the boundary between reality and myth becomes blurred, like the one between genders. Filmed on the banks of the Ogooué river in Gabon, Chrishna/Ombwiri through the testimony of a young man who started a gender change process takes us in a liquid universe populated by legendary and ancestral creatures, androgynous figures in metamorphosis, extraordinary amphibians, such as the Homeric sirens, famous for their beauty and their singing, or the Krishna deity, an entity of female appearance but male.
Following the chanting rhythm of the waters, Doyon writes and films the voice and body of Chrishna, redesigning the canons of the narration of the otherness, always faithful to the lesson of Hélène Cixous: «write yourself, write your body».

Realizza il suo primo lungometraggio, Les Lionceaux, nel 2002, e lo presenta lo stesso anno alla Quinzaine des Réalisateurs al Festival di Cannes. Realizza in seguito numerosi corti e mediometraggi, tra cui Le vent souffle où il veut, Kataï, Son of a gun (girato insieme ad Antoine Barraud) e Pénélope, opere selezionate e premiate in festival internazionali del calibro di Locarno, Venezia, Torino, FID Marseille e Clérmont-Ferrand. Nel 2013, assieme a Coco Tassel, crea la società di produzione Cofilms. È inoltre la fondatrice dell’istituto sperimentale Maia, che ha sede a Parigi.

She directed her first feature film, , in 2002, and presented it the same year during Cannes Film Festival, in the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs. After that, she made numerous short and medium-length films, including (shot together with Antoine Barraud) and ; her films has been selected and awarded in international festivals such as Locarno, Venice, Turin, FID Marseille and Clermont-Ferrand. In 2013, together with Coco Tassel, she created the Cofilms production. She is also the founder of the experimental institute Maia, located in Paris.
