Losier è l’unico soggetto dietro la macchina da presa: lavora in solitaria, brandendo la camera e registrando il suono. Di conseguenza la relazione sulla quale si basa il film diviene parte integrante del film stesso. è ancora un altro viaggio di meraviglie, un affettuoso legame tra due artisti incessantemente in gioco che demolisce la barriera tra regista e soggetto filmato. Una fusione continua di creatività visionaria e densa esplorazione del lavoro dell’artista.

Fall into the world of Felix Kubin’s experimentation and creation of music sound. A portrait of a great artist who never stops living with music in his head. Felix is the little Nemo of a new sleepless world of music and pure joy!
Losier is a one-person filmmaker: she works alone, wielding the camera and recording the sound. Hence the relationship on which the film is built is brought into the film. , is again another journey of marvel and tender bonding between two artists who never stop playing with each other therefore breaking down barriers between the filmmaker and the subject in a continuous merger of visual creativity and in-depth exploration of artists at work.

Filmmaker e curatrice, ha vissuto a New York per venti anni presentando i propri lavori video o in pellicola in musei, gallerie d’arte e festival vincendo numerosi premi. Ha creato una serie di film-ritratto su registi, musicisti e artisti delle avanguardie tra i quali i fratelli Kuchar, Guy Maddin, Richard Foreman, Tony Conrad, Genesis P-Orridge, Alan Vega, Peter Hristoff e il “Liberace della lotta libera” Saul Almendariz detto Cassandro. I film della Losier son stati presentati a Cannes, alla Berlinale, al Rotterdam Film Festival, IDFA, la Tate Modern, MoMA, il Palais de Tokyo, il Centre Georges Pompidou e la Cinémathèque Française. Negli ultimi due anni, Losier ha anche diretto e coordinato il corso di cinema per il Master in Arti Visive del LA HEAD (Ginevra). Il recente film Felix in Wonderland ha debuttato al Locarno Film Festival nel 2019. Nello stesso anno, il Sicilia Queer Filmfest ha reso omaggio alla Losier dedicandole la sezione Presenze. Marie Losier è stata inoltre oggetto d’una retrospettiva al MoMa di New York e al Jeu de Paume a Parigi.

Filmmaker and curator, she lived in New York for twenty years and has shown her films and videos at museums, galleries, and festivals, winning numerous awards. She has made several film portraits of avant-garde directors, musicians, and artists such as the Kuchar brothers, Guy Maddin, Richard Foreman, Tony Conrad, Genesis P-Orridge, Alan Vega, Peter Hristoff, and of the "Liberace of lucha libre" Saul Almendariz aka Cassandro. Losier's films are regularly shown at prestigious venues such as Cannes Film Festival, Berlinale, Rotterdam Film Festival, IDFA, The Tate Modern, MoMA, Le Palais de Tokyo, Le Centre Georges Pompidou, and La Cinémathèque Francaise. For the past two years, Losier has been the coordinator and director for first-year MFA cinema students at LA HEAD − Genève. Her new film Felix in Wonderland premiered at the Locarno Film Festival in 2019. In the same year, the Sicilia Queer Filmfest paid an homage to Marie Losier inviting her to focus on her work the section Presenze. Marie Losier recently showed a retrospective at MoMA in New York City and at Jeu de Paume in Paris.
