Jakob ha 17 anni e vive con suo padre e suo nonno in un piccolo appartamento di Vienna. Quando, finito il liceo, è costretto a lavorare nel mattatoio del padre in attesa di iscriversi all’università, i suoi disturbi d’ansia si fanno più intensi, accendendo un desiderio che cerca di colmare online. L’incontro su un sito di chat erotiche con l’affascinante Kristjan gli darà la possibilità di lasciarsi andare, ma le ferite più profonde della sua anima lo aspetteranno nei meandri più oscuri di Nevrland, mettendo a rischio l’integrità della sua stessa psiche.
Un film sulla potenza del desiderio che affermandosi può stravolgere l’intera esistenza, distruggendo le nostre certezze fino a portarci in un luogo in cui lo stesso concetto di identità sembra perdere ogni tipo di significato.

Jakob is 17 and he lives with his father and his grandfather in a small apartment in Vienna. When, finished high school, he’s forced to work in his father’s slaughterhouse waiting to start his university’s career, his anxiety disorder gets more intense, turning on a desire which he tries to fulfil online. The meeting with the handsome Kristjan in a chat-cam sex site, will give him the change to unwind, but the deepest wounds of his souls will wait him in the darkest meanders of Nevrland, putting at risk the integrity of his own psyche.
A movie about the power of desire which, affirming itself can overturns the entire existence, destroying our certainties bringing us in a place where the concept of identity seems to loose every kind of meaning.
Gregor Schmidinger

Nato a Linz nel 1985, ha studiato televisione digitale alla Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, e nel 2007 ha trascorso un anno come studente in scambio alla Bowling Green State University in Ohio (USA). Si è laureato nel 2009, scrivendo una tesi sullo storytelling transmediale, continuando a studiare poi sceneggiatura alla University of California a Los Angeles. I suoi due cortometraggi The Boy Next Door (2008) e Homophobia (2012) hanno ottenuto su Youtube più di 15 milioni di visualizzazioni. Oltre a scrivere e dirigere, Schmidinger lavora anche come social media strategist per altri film ed è un membro della österreichische Filmbewertungskommission, che si occupa di valutare e votare i film in Austria. Schmidinger è uno dei co-fondatori del Porn Film Festival Vienna.

Born in Linz in 1985, he first studied digital television at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, and in 2007 he spent a year as an exchange student at the Bowling Green State University in Ohio (USA). He graduated in 2009, having written his thesis on transmedia storytelling, and went on to study screenwriting at the University of California in Los Angeles. He has published two short films “The Boy Next Door” (2008) and “Homophobia” (2012) on YouTube, where they have gotten more than 15 million views. In addition to writing and directing, Schmidinger also works as a social media strategist for other movies and is a member of the österreichische Filmbewertungskommission, which is responsible for evaluating and rating films in Austria. Schmidinger is a co-founder of the Porn Film Festival Vienna.
