A metà degli anni 90 un gruppo di ballerini si riunisce in uno sperduto college abbandonato per preparare le coreografie in vista di un imminente spettacolo. Finite le prove però, tra il gruppo di ballerini inizia a generarsi un’insolita e bizzarra paranoia e quella che era iniziata come una tranquilla festa a base di sangria si tramuterà in un incubo allucinatorio da cui è impossibile fuggire.
L’ultima, sconvolgente opera di Gaspar Noé. Un viaggio sensoriale dentro la mente del regista franco-argentino, un’esperienza psicotropa ed epilettica che mette a dura prova la sfera emozionale di ogni spettatore. Lasciate ogni speranza, o voi che entrate!

In the mid-90s a group of dancers meet in a lost abandoned college in order to work over the choreographies in sight of a forthcoming play. When the rehearsals are over, among the dancer’s group starts generating a strange and bizarre paranoia and what begun as a relaxed sangria party turns into a dazzling nightmare from which is impossible to run away.
Gaspar Noé’s last disturbing movie. A sensorial trip inside the French-Argentinian director’s mind, a psychotropic and epileptic experience which will hard test every spectator’s emotional sphere. All hope abandon, ye who enter in!

Regista e sceneggiatore argentino nato a Buenos Aires nel 1963. Figlio del pittore, scrittore e intellettuale argentino Louis Felipe Noé, si laurea alla scuola di cinema Louis-Lumière di Parigi.
Nel 1991 il suo corto Carne vince il premio SACD durante La Semaine de la Critique di Cannes. La storia del macellaio di cavalli iniziata nel corto, continuerà nel 1998 nel suo primo lungometraggio, Seuls contre tous, che si aggiudicherà il premio Mercedes-Benz ancora una volta a Cannes. Da allora la presenza di Noé al festival francese sarà una costante: i due lungometraggi successivi, Irréversible (2002) e Enter the Void (2009) saranno entrambi in lizza per l’ambita Palma d’Oro. Nel 2015 il suo Love, presentato in anteprima e distribuito poi in 3D, sarà uno dei film più discussi e censurati dell’anno a causa delle lunghe scene di sesso non simulato presenti all’interno del film. Nel 2018 è la volta di Climax, che si aggiudica il premio Art Cinema. Il suo ultimo lavoro, un mediometraggio dal titolo Lux Æterna, è stato presentato a Cannes nel 2019 nella sezione Midnight Screening.

He is an Argentinian director and screenwriter born in Buenos Aires in 1963. Son of the painter, writer and intellectual Louis Felipe Noé, he graduated from the Louis-Lumière film school of Paris. In 1991, his short movie Carne won the SACD during the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes. The horse butcher’s story started with the short, will follow in 1998 in his first feature-length movie, Seuls contre tous which win the Mercedes-Benz Award once again in Cannes. Since then, Noé’s presence in Cannes is a constant: his two next movies, Irréversible (2002) and Enter the Void (2009), are in competition for the yearned Palme d’Or. In 2015 his Love, premiered and then released in 3D, is one of the most discussed and censured movies of the year because of the long non simulated sex scenes included in the movie. In 2018 is Climax’s turn, which win the Art Cinema Award. His last project, a medium length movie called Lux Æterna, was presented in Cannes in the Midnight Screening section.
