Uno strano suono spazza via l’intera popolazione. Gli unici a scampare a questa calamità sono un gruppo di persone non udenti: una coppia di lesbiche che cerca di salvare il proprio rapporto, una ragazza tormentata da un terribile segreto e un uomo che finalmente ha raggiunto un grande traguardo in seno alla sua comunità. Realizzato con la collaborazione della comunità dei sordi di Londra, Dawn of the Deaf è un film horror apocalittico che attraverso una narrazione coinvolgente ci insegna a guardare la “disabilità” dei personaggi non più come tale, ma come un vantaggio sul resto della popolazione.
When a strange sound wipes out the hearing population. The only ones who escape this calamity are a group of deaf people: a lesbian couple fighting to save their relationship, a troubled young girl hiding a terrible secret, and a man who has finally reached a great goal within his community. Made with the collaboration of London deaf community, Dawn of the Deaf is an apocalyptic horror film that, through an engaging narrative, shows us how to look at characters’ “disability” as an advantage over the hearing population.

Premiato autore e regista, nominato nel 2013 come Screen International Star of Tomorrow. Dirige cortometraggi, film e corti pubblicitari. A 18 anni scrive, dirige, monta e co-produce il lungometraggio a basso costo Strings, che viene presentato in numerosi festival in tutto il mondo, compreso il Raindance per la sua prima britannica e la Festa del cinema di Roma per la sua prima europea. Rob Savage ha partecipato alla Berlinale Talents e all’Edinburgh Talent Campus. I suoi cortometraggi sono stati premiati, tra gli altri, al London Short Film Festival. Ha ottenuto il BFI Future Film Award 2011, attribuito dal British Film Institute. Attualmente è impegnato nella pre-produzione del suo secondo lungometraggio, Seaholme, un horror psicologico prodotto con Salon Pictures.
He is a multi-award winning writer and director, and 2013 Screen International Star of Tomorrow, working in shorts, features and commercials. He wrote, directed, shot, co-produced and edited micro-budget feature film Strings at age 18, which has screened at a number of prestigious International Festivals around the world, including Raindance for its UK premiere and the Rome Film Festival for its European. Rob is a Berlinale Talents and Edinburgh Talent Campus alumnus and has won a number of awards for his short films at festivals including the London Short Film Festival. He was also the recipient of the BFI Future Film Award 2011. Rob is currently in pre-production on his second feature film, psychological horror Seaholme, with Salon Pictures.
