In pieno inverno, in una città dormitorio, Baptiste, Mathilde, Jørgen, Yulya e Jeanne, adolescenti selvaggi e teneri allo stesso tempo, si raccontano senza reticenze. Tra la noia che invade le loro giornate e le aspirazioni taciute, questi giovani combattono la loro solitudine armati di desiderio e parole in un mondo disertato dagli adulti. Accanto agli incontri e agli scambi di battute, i monologhi recitati direttamente in camera rivelano paure, rabbie e desideri inconfessabili. Adattamento dell’omonima pièce teatrale di Laura Desprein, Cœurs sourds è un cortometraggio dalla scrittura sicura e dalla forma interessante e curata.
In the middle of winter, in a dormitory town, Baptiste, Mathilde, Jørgen, Yulya and Jeanne, all wild and tender at the same time, tell all about themselves without reticence. Between the boredom that invades their days and unspoken aspirations, armed with desire and words they fight their loneliness in a world deserted by adults. Besides hanging out and talking, their monologues performed in front of the camera reveal fears, anger and unspeakable desires. Screen adaptation of Laura Desprein’s homonymous play, Deaf Hearts is a short film that not only shows a very accurate writing, but also a distinctive and attentive visual style.
Arnaud Khayadjanian
Sceneggiatore, regista e produttore autodidatta nato in Francia, nella regione dell’Ardèche. Nel 2014 realizza il cortometraggio Bad Girl, adattamento di un testo teatrale di Laura Desprein che viene selezionato al Festival di Uppsala e premiato al Sundance Tv Shorts Competition. Nel 2015 realizza Les chemins arides, documentario osannato dalla critica, premiato dalla giuria al Festival di Ismaïlia e premiato come migliore film allo Yerevan International Film Festival in Armenia.
He is a self-taught writer, director and producer born in France, in the Ardèche region. In 2014, he codirected Bad Girl, an adaptation of a pièce by Laura Desprein. The short film was selected at the Uppsala Festival and awarded at the Sundance Channel Competition. In 2015, he directed, a critically acclaimed documentary, awarded by the jury at the Ismaïlia Festival and as best film at the Yerevan International Film Festival in Armenia.
