Mia è una giovane quindicenne appena trasferitasi con la famiglia in una piccola cittadina vicino Zurigo. Come per qualsiasi adolescente, il periodo di ambientamento nella nuova scuola è sempre un po’ difficile e sofferto. Mia però riuscirà a farsi accettare all’interno di un gruppo di ragazzine disinibite seguendole e imitandole nel loro atteggiamento ribelle. Le giornate delle giovani procedono tra droga, sesso e piccoli furti al centro commerciale, ma il corpo di Mia sta cambiando di giorno in giorno in maniera inspiegabile. Blue my mind, lungometraggio d’esordio della regista svizzera Lisa Brühlmann, è un film audace, capace di spiazzare il pubblico mescolando un’apparente narrazione da film sull’adolescenza con un racconto dai forti connotati fantasy e horror; un film che ragiona sul cinema e sulle potenzialità dei generi cinematografici.
Mia is a 15-year-old young girl who has just moved with her family to a small town near Zurich. At first, as a typical teenager, she struggles to fit in at the new school. However, she soon manages to become accepted in a small group of uninhibited girls, following them and imitating them in their rebellious attitude. They spend their days using drugs, having sex and committing petty theft at the mall, while Mia’s body goes through inexplicable transformations. Blue my mind, the debut feature by Swiss director Lisa Brühlmann, is a bold film which floors the audience by mixing an ostensible teen movie narrative with a story strongly characterized by fantasy and horror ingredients; a film which represents a meditation on cinema itself and on the potential of film genres.

Nasce a Zurigo nel 1981. Comincia la sua carriera artistica studiando recitazione dal 2005 al 2008 e recitando in numerose serie TV e in teatro al Theaterwerkstatt Charlottenburg. Dal 2010 al 2016 studia regia presso la Zürcher Hochschule der Künste di Zurigo. Nel 2010 realizza il suo primo cortometraggio, Frühlingserwachen, a cui seguirà nello stesso anno Flügge, e poi Irgendwie (2012), Hylas und die Nymphen (2013) e Mäge (2015). Blue my mind è il suo lungometraggio di esordio: presentato al Festival di San Sebastiàn 2017, ha vinto diversi premi in vari festival.
She was born in Zurich in 1981. She began her artistic career studying acting from 2005 to 2008 and starring in numerous TV series and theatre plays. From 2010 to 2016 she studied film and directing at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in Zurich. In 2010 she made her first short film, Frühlingserwachen, followed, in the same year, by Flügge, and then Irgendwie (2012), Hylas und die Nymphen (2013) and Mäge (2015). Blue my mind is her debut feature: screened at the San Sebastiàn Festival 2017, it has won several awards at many film festivals.
