In un luogo segreto, un gruppo di sconosciuti si incontra per spiare le abitudini e i gesti dei passanti. Per saperne di più un produttore di documentari incontra uno dei suoi vecchi frequentatori, e la conversazione si trasforma presto in un’esplorazione del fascino che caratterizza uno sguardo libero di osservare qualcuno nella sua totale spontaneità.
À discrétion è un film sul potere dello sguardo, sul piacere e sul desiderio che esso è in grado di innescare, ma anche una grande metafora sul potere del cinema. Un ulteriore tassello per conoscere il mondo di Jacques Nolot, qui straordinario interprete insieme a Sharif Andoura.
In a secret place, a group of strangers meets to spy on the habits and gestures of the passers-by. To find out more, a documentary producer meets one old customer, and the conversation soon turns into an exploration of the charm that characterizes a gaze left free to watch somebody in his absolute spontaneity.
À discrétion is a film about the power of the gaze, the pleasure and desire that it might trigger, as well as a great metaphor for the power of cinema. A further step to learn more about the world of Jacques Nolot, here at his finest, paired with Sharif Andoura.

È un regista e sceneggiatore francese. Ha esordito come regista con i documentari Un virus dans la ville (Un virus in città) del 2008 e Carmel, cortometraggio realizzato nel 2009 e presentato al Torino Film Festival. Il suo primo lungometraggio di finzione, À discrétion (2017), ha ricevuto il Grand Prix France al Festival du cinéma de Brive e il Press Jury Award al Côté Court Festival. È stato inoltre presentato al Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival e al Silhouette Film Festival.
He is a French director and screenwriter. He began his career as a filmmaker with the documentaries A Virus in the City (2008) and Carmel, a short film made in 2009 and presented at Torino Film Festival. His first fiction feature, À discretion (2017), was awarded with Grand Prix France at Festival du cinéma de Brive and Press Jury Award at Côté Court Festival. The film screened at Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival and Silhouette Film Festival.
