Dividere la propria vita con la persona che si ama, e con la quale si hanno gli stessi interessi, è il sogno di tutti. A volte però, questo potrebbe trasformarsi in un incubo. È quello che succede una mattina a Kate e Leigh al loro risveglio. Compagne nel lavoro e nella vita, da anni condividono tutto: gli amici, l’appartamento in cui vivono e il gay bar che hanno aperto insieme. Un crollo nella loro attività sessuale le costringe a riconsiderare la propria relazione, prendendo atto di quanto ormai le loro esistenze siano intrecciate. Riusciranno a ritrovare nella propria routine qualcosa di nuovamente stimolante?
Sharing your own life with the person you love and with whom you have the same interests, it’s the dream of everybody. However sometimes this could turn in a nightmare. That’s what happens to Kate and Leigh when they wake up. Professional and life partners they shared everything for years: friends, the apartment where they live and the gay bar they co-own. A slump in their sex life forces them to reconsider their relationship, they must confront how intertwined their lives have become. Will they succeed to find again in their routine something exciting?

Joey Ally è una scrittrice, regista e attrice americana, che è stata insignita di vari premi. Ha avuto la fortuna di ricevere, in ambito cinematografico, la guida di Megan Griffiths e Lynn Shelton, considerate due mostri sacri per la scrittura e la produzione di serie televisive. Il suo debutto alla scrittura e alla regia, Minumum Wage, è stato mostrato in anteprima assoluta al Palm Springs International ShortFest nel 2015 e poi ha fatto il giro di vari festival internazionali. Insieme al partner T.J. Williams, Jr., ha fondato la SilverOx Pictures, e sta scrivendo il prossimo film a tematica LGBT, The Bridesman. Nel 2016 Ally ha partecipato al Workshop per donne regista all’American Film Institute, esperienza dalla quale nascerà un nuovo corto, Chipped. Nel 2017 ha realizzato un altro cortometraggio, Joy Joy Nails.

Joey Ally is an American award-winning writer, director and actor. She has been fortunate to receive her film mentorship from Megan Griffiths and Lynn Shelton, considered the filmmaking luminaries for the writing and the production of TV series. Her writing and directorial debut, Minumum Wage, premiered at the Palm Springs International ShortFest in 2015 and then screened in several international festivals. She and partner T.J. Williams, Jr. form SilverOx Pictures, are currently developing her LGBT feature The Bridesman. Joey is a member of the 2016 class of the American Film Institute’s Directing Workshop for Women, through which she’ll produce her next short film, Chipped. In 2017 she made her last short film, Joy Joy Nails.
