Polly lavora come cassiera nell’officina del padre, in una località di villeggiatura sul mare. Al campeggio vicino conosce Joanne, con la quale trascorre tutta l’estate e sembra condividere un sentimento più forte dell’amicizia. Quando la ragazza le annuncia in modo sbrigativo che le vacanze sono finite e che quindi farà presto ritorno a Marsiglia, Polly non riesce a rassegnarsi e ad accettare passivamente questa partenza. Farà di tutto per cercare di trasformare e rendere reale quella che fino a quel momento è stata una relazione immaginata. Il corto descrive il momento della disillusione la consapevolezza della fine di un amore.

Polly works as a cashier in her father's garage, in a seaside resort. At the local campsite, she met Joanne with whom she spends the summer and shares something more than a simple friendship. The latter announces to him that she will return home to Marseilles. When the girl tells her in a hasty way that the holidays are over and that she will soon return to Marseilles, Polly cannot resign herself and passively accept this departure. She will do everything to try to transform and make real what was until then more an imaginative relationship than a real one. The short describes the moment of disillusion and awareness of the end of a love.

Nato nel 1980, Xavier Sirven è un montatore, regista e attore. In un primo momento ha studiato ingegneria in Francia all’Università di Tecnologia di Compiègne, specializzandosi in Cultural Industries sotto la guida del filosofo Bernard Stiegler. Dopo questa esperienza ha lavorato all’IRCAM (Istituto di ricerca e coordinazione acustica e musicale) e poi al Centre Pompidou. Parallelamente a queste occupazioni, continua la sua attività di attore nella compagnia teatrale di Emmanuel Ostrovsky. Nel 2007, prosegue i suoi studi presso La Fémis, scuola nazionale francese di cinematografia, specializzandosi nel 2011 nel montaggio. Nel 2009, quando era ancora uno studente, realizza il suo primo cortometraggio, Histoire du renard, a cui seguiranno Marcher et voir (2010) Petites Vallées (2012) e Loup, y es-tu? (2013).

Born 1980, Xavier Sirven is a film director and editor. He first studied engineering in France, specializing himself in Cultural Industries under the leadership of philosopher Bernard Stiegler. He then worked as a research engineer at IRCAM (Research Institute of Music) and Centre Pompidou (National Center of Art and Culture). At the same time, he is also an actor in the theatrical research company of Emmanuel Ostrovsky. In 2007 he entered the editing department of La Fémis (French National Film School). In 2009, when he was still a student, he he made his first short film, Histoire du renard, followed by Marcher et voir (2010) Petites vallées (2012) and Loup, y es-tu? (2013).
