Come descritto dalla voice over di James K. Wilkins, in Dear God Please Save Me assistiamo alle sofferenze di “una donna molto intellettuale dell’America Vittoriana”, una paleontologa, ci spiega ancora la voce, che vediamo trascinare con sé e poi seppellire una capsula del tempo, nella quale ha nascosto gli oggetti per lei più preziosi. La vediamo pregare Dio affinché la ascolti e la salvi, e ascoltiamo il suo monologo interiore, in un fluire di pensieri che oscillano tra il nonsense e il dramma, per un film al contempo tragico, folle e grottesco.

As described by James K. Wilkins’ voice-over, in Dear God Please Save Me we witness the suffering of “a very intellectual woman of Victorian America", a paleontologist, who, as the voice keeps on explaining, we see carry and then bury a time capsule in which she has hidden her most precious belongings. We see her praying to God so that he listens to her and saves her, and we listen to her inner monologue, a flow of thoughts ranging from nonsense to drama, in a movie which is at the same time tragic, crazy and grotesque.
