Su un isola sperduta tra due mondi, Dai, una giovane donna cinese, sopravvive da sola in una grotta, in compagnia del bambino che giorno dopo giorno cresce nel suo grembo. In attesa sul molo che ogni giorno viene invaso dall’arrivo di centinaia di migranti, Dai cerca instancabilmente la faccia dell’uomo che ama, suo marito. Forse un giorno il suo desiderio sarà esaudito… Un ritratto di Lampedusa dove documentario e finzione coesistono con grazia, raccontando efficacemente uno spaccato del mondo.

On an island lost between two worlds, Dai, a young Chinese woman, survives alone in a cave, waiting for the baby that swells her womb day after day. By the harbour which, every day, flurry with the arrival of hundreds of migrants, she searches tirelessly the face of the man she loves, her husband. One night her wish is to be fulfilled… A portrait of Lampedusaa where documentary and fiction coexist with grace, narrating effectively a certain state of the world.

Dopo aver studiato teatro e arti visive, nel 2000 Fabianny Deschamps si è concentrata nel filmmaking. Ha diretto sei cortometraggi proiettati e premiati in numerosi festival. Il suo primo lungometraggio, New Territories, girato tra Hong Kong e il sud della Cinea, è stato selezionato al Cannes-ACID ed è uscito nella sale francesi nel Dicembre del 2015. Isola è il suo secondo lungometraggio.

After studying theater and visual arts, Fabianny Deschamps focused on filmmaking in 2000. She directed six short films broadcasted and awarded in festivals. Her first feature film New Territories, shot between Hong Kong and southern China, selected at Cannes - ACID, was released in France in December 2015. Isola is her second feature film.
