It's Christmas Eve in Hollywood. After 28 days in jail, Sin-Dee is back in Tinseltown and looking for Chester, her pimp and boyfriend. When she learns from her best friend Alexandra that Chester had cheated on her, she decides to get to the bottom of his betrayal. She embarks on a journey in which she encounters various subcultures of Los Angeles, including an Armenian family that is also dealing with the repercussions of infidelity. Tangerine results from an unconventional approach; it has a cast of non-professional actors and it was filmed on an iPhone 5 with an anamorphic lens. Sean Baker captures the lively energy of the neighborhood between Santa Monica Boulevard and Highland Avenue in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. The film's frenetic and captivating spirit underscores these stories of true humanity and friendship.

Nato a New York nel 1971, Sean Baker è regista, sceneggiatore e produttore. Laureato alla New York University, con il film Take out del 2004 ottiene importanti nomination per il John Cassavetes Award e l’Independent Spirit Award. Girerà in seguito Prince of Broadway (2008) e Starlet (2012), che vincerà il Robert Altman Spirit Award e segnerà il debutto da protagonista di Dree Hemingway. Baker è anche co-ideatore della serie tv Greg the Bunny (2002-2006) e dello spin-off trasmesso da MTV Warren the Ape (2010).

Born in New York in 1971, Sean Baker is a director, writer, and producer. He graduated from New York University, and his feature film Take Out (2004) was nominated for the John Cassavetes Award and the Independent Spirit Award. He then directed Prince of Broadway (2008) and Starlet (2012). Starlet won the Robert Altman Spirit Award and marked the debut of Dree Hemingway in a leading role. He is also one of the co-creators of the puppet comedy series Greg the Bunny (2002-2006) and its subsequent spin-off, MTV's Warren the Ape (2010).
