Karim è un giovane musicista neodiplomato di origine marocchina. Ad Amsterdam vive una relazione con il suo compagno olandese, ma un sms sembra troncare di netto la loro storia: il compagno non vuole più vivere il loro rapporto in segreto, bensì apertamente. Per Karim si schiude una scelta difficile, legata alle spiegazioni che dovrebbe al padre, il quale non si è risposato non soltanto per non essersi mai innamorato di un’altra donna, ma anche per proteggere suo figlio, non reputando nessuna all’altezza di essere la seconda madre di Karim.
Karim is a young recently graduated musician of Moroccan origins. In Amsterdam he lives a love relationship with his Dutch classmate, but it looks like a text message is going to break off their story: his partner doesn’t want to live anymore their relationship in secret, but rather openly. Karim has to face a difficult choice, because of the explanations he should give his father who didn’t remarry not only because he never fell in love with another woman, but also to protect his son, for no other woman seemed worth of becoming Karim’s stepmother.
Wahid Sanouji
Wahid Sanouji è nato e cresciuto in Marocco e ha vissuto in Olanda negli ultimi sette anni. Ha studiato legge, arte e letteratura francese e lavora come attore e regista in diversi paesi. Il modo di intendere il cinema di Sanouji è connotato da un forte impegno sociale, con una particolare attenzione per il problema dell’incomunicabilità tra gruppi contrapposti.
Wahid Sanouji was born and raised in Morocco, he has been living in Holland for the last seven years. He has studied Law, Art and French literature and works as an actor and director in various countries. Sanouji's way of interpreting cinema is connoted by a strong social commitment, with a particular attention to the problem of the incommunicability between opposed groups.
