Alex e Tom sono una coppia in viaggio per l’Italia. Questa vacanza li metterà di fronte alla consapevolezza che la loro storia d’amore è in crisi, tra di loro negli anni si è creata una distanza a causa delle diverse scelte e dei differenti percorsi intrapresi. Le vicende e gli incontri del viaggio li porteranno a ragionare su di loro e sulla possibilità di separarsi. Continua il lavoro diaristico del regista francese Vincent Dieutre che ripartendo da Pasolini si confronta con il film di Roberto Rossellini già dedicati a Kawase, Eustache, Cocteau.
Alex and Tom are a couple visiting Italy. Their journey will make them face the awareness that their love story is in a rut, over time they have become distant due to the different choices and paths they made. The events and the encounters made during the trip will make them rethink their relationship and consider the possibility of a divorce. The journal-like work of the French director Vincent Dieutre continues and, taking inspiration from Pasolini, interacts with Roberto Rosselini’s Viaggio in Italia. The remake combines the masterpiece by Rossellini and the events behind the production of Dieutre's film itself creating some moments of deep reflection on the conditions of cinema and on Italy now and then. It is the fourth episode of the series of Exercises d’Admiration already paid to Kawase, Eustache, Cocteau.
Vincent Dieutre
Dopo la laurea in Storia dell’Arte, frequenta l’Istituto di Studi Cinematografici di Parigi. Ha vissuto a Roma e poi a New York. Il suo primo film Rome Désolée, un documentario autobiografico, ha vinto numerosi premi. Interessato alla musica e alla pittura, ha continuato a esplorare il confine tra cinema e arte contemporanea, teatro e installazioni. Del 2011 la sua installazione Sakis: Un Tombeau. Nutre una passione per le creazioni radiofoniche e continua la sua collaborazione con il collettivo PointLignePlan. Tra i suoi lavori più importanti Bonne Nouvelle (2002) and Jaurès (2012), vincitore del Teddy Award alla Berlinale del 2012.Tra i suoi ultimi lavori per il cinema il documentario girato in Sicilia Orlando ferito (2013) che fa parte della trilogia Films d’Europe insieme a Leçons de Ténèbres (2000) e Mon Voyage d’Hiver (2003). In fase di produzione la Trilogie de nos vies défaites (2015). È stato autore del trailer della terza edizione del Sicilia Queer filmfest.
After graduating in Art History, he enrolled in the Institute for Advanced Cinematographic Studies in Paris. He lived first in Rome, then in New York. His first film, Rome Désolée, an autobiographical documentary, won various awards. Following his interest in music and painting, he has continued to explore the boundaries between cinema and contemporary art, theatre and installations. In 2011 he worked on the installation Sakis: Un Tombeau. He is passionate about radio creations and collaborates with the PointLignePlan collective. Among his most significant works, Bonne Nouvelle (2002) and Jaurès (2012), that won the Teddy Award in Berlin Film Festival in 2012. Among his latest works for cinema, the documentary Roland blessé (2013) was shot in Sicily and is part of the Films d’Europe trilogy, together with Leçons de Ténèbres (2000) and Mon Voyage d’Hiver (2003). Trilogie de nos vies défaites (2015) is now in preparation. He created the trailer for the third edition of the Sicilia Queer filmfest.
