David Gold ha appena perso l’ennesimo lavoro nella sua mediocre carriera da attore a causa del suo problema con l’alcol. Come se non bastasse, gli viene diagnosticato un cancro alla pelle e il rifiuto di accettare la sua omosessualità lo porta a vivere una vita piena di bugie e ricordi. Senza più un soldo e con l’affitto da pagare, David decide di recitare la parte di un orientatore scolastico che aiuta i ragazzi problematici della Grusin High School. Ma le cose non saranno così facili come si aspetta. Guidance è una scanzonata commedia che ci racconta con ironia, sarcasmo ed un tocco di cinismo la folle vita del queer per antonomasia.
David Gold has just lost his last job of his lousy acting career for his problem with the bottle. On top of that he was diagnosed with skin cancer and, to make things worse, his refusal to accept his homosexuality makes him live a life full of lies and memories. Already broke and with a rent to pay David decides to act as a school counsellor supporting the problematic students of Grusin High. The problem is that things will not be easy as predicted. Guidance is an easygoing comedy that tell with irony, sarcasm and a little bit of cynicism the crazy life of the queer par excellence.

Inizia la sua carriera cinematografica come attore nella serie You Can't Do That on Television. Formatosi alla Ryerson University, i suoi corti (Babysitting Andy, Marjorie, Pat’s firts kiss, 5 Dysfunctional people in a car) sono stati presentati nei festival di tutto il mondo, tra cui il TIFF dove il suo Don’t Talk to Irene vincerà il premio “Pitch This!”. Guidance è il suo primo lungometraggio.
He begins his career in the industry as an actor in the series You Can't Do That on Television. Formed at Ryerson University, his shorts (Babysitting Andy, Marjorie, Pat’s firts kiss, 5 Dysfunctional people in a car), have been at festivals all around the world, including TIFF where he wins the Pitch This! prize with Don’t Talk to Irene. Guidance is his first feature film.
